A walkie-talkie is a quest item in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.

Characteristics[]

It has the appearance of a United States Armed Forces handheld radio set, similar to those used by civilians for recreational uses.

Locations[]

Two can be found at the Zion Fishing Lodge, behind the bar counter in the cabinet.

Notes[]

  • If the player does not have a high enough lockpick skill, the key to the cabinet can be found inside the crate in the restroom, on the other side of the wall.
  • After collecting the walkie-talkies, Follows-Chalk will comment periodically about them being more useful than smoke signals.
  • They are quest items and can only be removed when given to Daniel.
The following is based on Fallout New Vegas cut content and has not been confirmed by canon sources.
  • At one point during development, the player was to find the walkie-talkies broken, just like the Broken compass, and had to get it repaired. This part of the quest was cut before release, however; with the only remaining assets being a single icon for a broken walkie-talkie and two messages within the GECK telling the player that the walkie-talkie is broken and can be repaired with a Repair of 30 or 1 pile of Scrap electronics.
End of information based on Fallout New Vegas cut content.

Behind the scenes[]

The walkie-talkie appears to have been based off the SCR-536, used extensively by American forces during World War II.
