Archiving and templates

You mean you fixed that archive problem? Never tried it anymore after I couldn't automatically archive anymore after 10 archives pages. But SigmaDelta said he had the same problem just a week ago or so, so I'm not sure. About the infobox templates, I see you're working on getting the rest converted to the new layout. I'd like to have those too over at Nukapedia. Thought it'd be best to ask you before importing them to make sure you are ok with that. Jspoel

It's not fixed on Nukapedia, but it's fixed here. What I meant is that fixing the problem on Nukapedia would simply be a matter of copying our version of the ArchiveTool script and doing some minor modifications (because of the skin difference).
Regarding the infobox templates, not sure why our agreement regarding the infoboxes would have become invalid - so yeah, feel free to use them. -- Porter21 (talk) 08:33, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
Figured explaining the modifications would take longer than simply doing it myself, so I've gone ahead and updated Nukapedia's ArchiveTool. Let me know if there are problems. -- Porter21 (talk) 09:36, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Eternity Wiki

I have just set up a wiki for Obsidian's Project Eternity at If you could find some spare time to help out with some of your template/css magic, it would be great! Ausir 10:51, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Technical Request: Custom nav-box & Notification templates

Hello, Porter. I hate asking this, as I know it's expecting a lot, but I was hoping you might help me with the questions I listed here. I have something really special planned out for the 30th, and at the moment, you're the only person I can think to turn to. Community Central hasn't been much help, along with Grunny never answering me back, and Ghost having disappeared, it seems. (Hurhur) I figured the template I was wanting might work something similar to the Template:Talkback. As for the nav-box, I have the image mapping down-pat. However, when it comes to the scripting aspects needed, I'm entirely ignorant. GarouxBloodline 19:25, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey P., is it possible for the infoboxes to have imagemap functionality? That'd make the infobox images clickable and useful for navigating round the article. Tagaziel 16:11, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Gamepedia merge

Hi! As you might see, now that we have moved to Gamepedia, we have a top right ad in the content area. I'm not a fan of it pushing down the infoboxes, but as I've been told, it's possible to make the infoboxes align on the right of the ad and have "Gamepedia blocks" with various useful info put below the ad, thus forming a sidebar of sorts, similar to the one at Minecraft Wiki but more customizable. They are customizable per-page, but I figured they could be added to the infobox template. If you have time, could you perhaps try doing that, since you're the one who knows best how the templates work? 12:13, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Help us Porter, you're our only hope...

Hi Porter! It's been a while since I've seen you around. I understand that you've been pretty busy lately, but I don't think anyone else here can help with this. I've been trying to understand how the Wikilog extension is working, but so far it only become more vague to me. There are a number of issues with news blogs:

  • For now, we have news with either Blog:News or Blog:Wiki prefixes. But the actual blog pages (Blog:News, Blog:Wiki) are missing. I've tried re-creating one, but this doesn't make all the corresponding posts link to the blog. Old subscribe-to-RSS links pointed to old two-blog structure, I had to change the link to the overall Special:Wikilog feed for it to work at least somehow.
  • Most of the old news posts appear in the Special:Wikilog feed and in corresponding categories but once you try to access the actual post, it turns out that the article doesn't exist. E.g. Blog:News/Fallout 2 available for Mac OS on Not sure, but it might be caused by duplicated Blog namespace: 114 and 2100 (with 115 and 5101 for talk).
  • While submitting news, the {{Create news tab/all}} template doesn't seem to be working properly. It looks like it pastes prefix twice into the resulting URL: first time after the title= and the second time after the action=edit. The same issue occurs while trying to add a new forum post using the Add new topic button. The resulting URL is invalid as it contains action=editBlog or action=editForum. Looks like an issue with <createbox> tag.

I'm terribly sorry for asking so much, but could you please take a look at these issues? Thank you, friend. veryblackraven 15:48, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

It looks like I finally managed to correctly restore the blog pages. Every subpage (blog post) had to be dummy-edited to appear on the main blog page. veryblackraven 17:43, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Help needed at German Fallout wiki Template Infobox

Hi Porter, I hope you may able to help at the German Fallout wiki. We have some trouble with infobox templates. At the most infoboxes we will get an error message like "Expression error, unexpected operator..:" I have no bloody idea where and what to do to fix this. Would you please so kind and take a look? Or give me a hint where to look and how to troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks in advance Hoschie02 (talk) 08:15, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

Could you remove my Bot flag?

Hey, don't know if you remember me, but I used to be a very active editor before the migration to Curse.

I asked on Ausir's page as well, but he doesn't seem very active, and you're the only other bureaucrat that's been active at all lately, so I was hoping that you could help me getting this Bot flag removed from my account. I have no idea how I ended up getting it, but I guess something got messed up in the migration and my bot got confused for my main account or something. It's not a disaster having the bot flag, but I'd prefer not having it. Cheers! KristofferAG 14:01, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
