Since it became clear we require a clear attribution policy, I've posted a proposal in the forum. Your input is necessary! Tagaziel (talk) 11:27, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

I've been through a LOT of dialogue buddy.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:47, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

I wish! I know very little about the GECK. But a lot of doing repetitive dialogue tabling is something I can do.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:54, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure what to name many of the dialogue pages. I have just been naming the dialogue page the same as the page's name with " 's dialogue " after it, as to avoid confusion.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:39, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Future deletion?

Are you deletion this? United States declaration of war upon Germany (1941)--Ant2242 (talk) 04:02, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Oops sorry! I read that wrong! Good catch!!--Ant2242 (talk) 04:04, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

I was checking up on FDR's page and read the change log wrong.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:05, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

What's you opinion...

What's your opinion on the traps pages? I think they should be merged. *cough* "User:Ant2242/sandbox02" *cough* The information on the two pages are practically a duplicates.--Ant2242 (talk) 02:46, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Do you know the FO3 GECK? If so can you help me to understand what I did wrong with Brotch's dialogue. For some reason when I upload his dialogue it is missing part(s). The reason I haven't added the content is that I don't want to upload the reference in the wrong context.--Ant2242 (talk) 15:44, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

I -THINK- that it's split by character model/radio whatever/inanimate objects (ex. speaker, Raven Rock eye cameras, et c.), honestly I don't really know myself. I've been trying to export the dialogue biased on minor characters without the multi-game models, while trying to stay away from characters with more dialogue included in the DLCs. The PC FO3 I have is vanilla.

The reference for 1066 is already on the wiki, I just have no way of knowing if the line is out of order and/or separate from its counterparts. Due to the file not exporting completely?!? --Ant2242 (talk) 16:00, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

Asked Ben to forward it to the wikiwizards to fix. Tagaziel (talk) 08:16, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Got a reply. The maximum dimensions the software on this server can render properly is 5000x5000 pixels. We need to reupload them scaled down. We don't have to delete the max size versions, though. Link directly to the maximum size file in the new image's description. Tagaziel (talk) 17:18, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

I was working on the assumption that the real name was Camp Turtledove or something. I tried to look it up in the terminal entries, but as it turns out, it's actually called TDC and is, therefore, a proper noun. Good catch! :) Tagaziel (talk) 20:45, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea... Hmmm. Tagaziel (talk) 07:23, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Shouldn't we split the religion and the organisation?--Ant2242 (talk) 21:29, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Maybe we could redirect it to a "Hubology" section within the faction page, however that entire page is more or less the "Hubology" section.--Ant2242 (talk) 23:15, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

I thought it was "Hubologist" for the generic character (see chart), "Hubologists" for the faction, and "Hubology" for the religion.--Ant2242 (talk) 01:21, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

I was thinking the same categories as the other faction pages: their social order, history, technology, relations with other factions, et cetera.--Ant2242 (talk) 01:40, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

I've read some Hubologist and San Fran. dialogue/holodisks and I think that there is enough there to make some sort of article, I am just {emphasis}so terrible at writing. <:-(--Ant2242 (talk) 02:00, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

I think this is everything: Category:Fallout 2 dialogue files F, Hubologist teachings, Hubologist holodisk --Ant2242 (talk) 02:10, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you! Some of these pages are ridiculously under refed. Everything looks fine, could you please use the ref format I've been standardizing? Also I haven't been able to find the FB denial reference for the comparison of Hubology to Scientology. I remember reading it I just haven't been able to find it.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:08, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Your referencing is great, the format is new, please add the celebs dialogue too. I however was not referring to them, there is another FB coincidences reference that I'm having trouble finding.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:48, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

Could you give me your opinion on "Magnum Tom Goddard" and "Scorpion Joe Cornelius"?--Ant2242 (talk) 18:27, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Dev references

I think we can quote the e-mail body, but in the interest of anonymity, keep the developer's e-mail and/or name out of it. Just be sure to note who got this, so that people can ask you "hey, can you show me a copy of the e-mail"? Tagaziel (talk) 09:27, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Sinclair's Cloud?

Did Sinclair know of the cloud?--Ant2242 (talk) 06:25, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

But to what extent? "Got word today there was a chemical leak at the Sierra Madre, Sinclair was on the phone to ask for more help from the Think Tank Execs, so they're sending him the prototype chemical suits to protect the Villa workers....I don't think Sinclair even knows what he's really paid for. ..."--Ant2242 (talk) 06:33, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

"A chemical leak" and "asking for more help from the execs" to me, doesn't point to much of him knowing what was leaking in the Villa. Just that he thought Big MT could help him with it.--Ant2242 (talk) 06:50, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you! This is unfortunately another example on why we need to get going on the dialogue/terminal entries/referencing project.--Ant2242 (talk) 06:59, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Dialogue error?

I think it's some kind of error in all files. However I am not well versed in the GECK.--Ant2242 (talk) 20:58, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Ghoul origins

We've been adding dialogue for the characters and there are multiple conflicting theories and examples of different origins of ghouls. (Ex. Vault 12 "only" origins, dialogue and appearances thought the games) Could you please rewrite the ghoul main page.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:12, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much! If you need any base FO3 dialogue for your editing please tell me and I'll add it immediately. P.S. I meant the ghoul main whatever its called advert. page.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:36, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Inadequate protection + who knows what. Ditto with the feralism.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:55, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

That's just it we don't know if they'll go feral. We don't know what causes it. Some people mutate into ghouls with enough "radiation" some don't. Some ghouls have been around pre-War, some post. Some over long periods of time, some in an instant. Some go feral, some haven't are not showing any signs of this.--Ant2242 (talk) 05:14, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Marking non-confirmed stuff

I'm experimenting with an alternate method for marking stuff that's not been confirmed by primary sources. What do you think? Tagaziel (talk) 12:41, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Quaere Verum!

  1. The Yellow-green humanoid (squid-like = I doubt they got bones) enemies
  2. The FO1 special encounter bones outside of the Flying Saucer
  3. The Yellow-green humanoid enemy's worm and squid food

Can you please meet me on the chat-room at Nukapedia? You are very level-headed, and so I wish to discuss an important issue with you in confidence. Leon934 (talk) 03:27, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Table widths

I found examples of both occurrences here and here. I don't recall this error(?) being around before the wiki update. Do you have any idea of what could cause this? Another good example are the blank tables I just made for the FO3 dialogue project.--Ant2242 (talk) 19:44, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Bug project

I think we play the game on the platform and try to get the bug, If it's there it will then be verified.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:01, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

I was thinking more like {{Verify|Verified}}. I just have no real idea on how to make the templates and stuff. I did try to update the project page though.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:13, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Agreed.--Ant2242 (talk) 03:24, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Fallout Official Survival Guide

I'm sorry! <:-( I've tried, to the best of my abilities, adding the information to the most appropriate location on the pages. What I've been using to locate to verify the unsubstantiated Guide claims is: "Special:What links here" then the guide in question.--Ant2242 (talk) 00:38, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

HEy KAs, I've added the reference back, since it's the single most widely misunderstood element of Fallout 3. Tagaziel (talk) 12:37, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

I agree completely, Clutter is out enemy. However I cannot think of a better way of adding the entire context to the page, without making the reference as accurate as possible to the Bible section in question.--Ant2242 (talk) 18:11, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

There is a problem with this best case scenario, it requires the section to be all about the topic in question. Most of the FB content has a multitude of topics under such generic titles as "Questions, questions." As such we need to have the entire context within the page even with the proper links to the Bible in question.--Ant2242 (talk) 18:23, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

What is control f? I've never heard of it.--Ant2242 (talk) 18:36, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Again unless there is a better format, the entire information, in context, is best left on the page.--Ant2242 (talk) 18:50, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

No, the developer is giving the context of what she says. But if you could find a way to make the format better while leaving the content in this context, that be for the best.--Ant2242 (talk) 19:04, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

I think you hit the nail on the head with that format! I've never heard of "blockquote" before. ;p--Ant2242 (talk) 19:27, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Battle pages

Hi, it's the OfficialLolGuy http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/User:OfficialLolGuy over from Nukapedia. I've been asked to speak to you about some recent pages for battles that have been created here on The Vault. Basically, what it is, is the recent Battle of Rockland and Battle of Adams Air Force Base pages. I created and wrote those pages the other week, and added them to Nukapedia. The writing on your versions of the pages are extremely similar, practically verbatim, with a few alterations and synonyms.

When I first began making battle pages the other week by noticing your Battle of Project Purity article, I decided to make a Nukapedia version. I didn't copy or use anything from yours, I instead began making and writing it entirely from scratch; I even constructed the infobox myself.

Some other individuals would also like to know why a certain template indicating that the work came from Nukapedia wasn't used.

Hope to hear back from you. 20:36, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Those other individuals can stop wondering and get on with their lives, as I've rewritten the articles from scratch.
Kas, just remember to slap on the proper template at the top of the article, so that I know which articles are badly in need of revision and sourcing. Otherwise, we're all good. :)
As a side note, did you add those dialogue references? If not, well, it's amusing. Tagaziel (talk) 13:25, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Also, Kas, I just noticed I overwrote your rewrite. Sorry. Q_Q. Tagaziel (talk) 17:46, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Sure, I'll get on it. I've already done it for the Fallout soundtrack. I think there will be a bit of trouble with FNV and FO3, can you match the official track list to the music files in the game? I'd be in your debt. :) Tagaziel (talk) 19:10, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

So I was gone for the better part of forever and I have no idea what progress you've made, but all the data I pulled out for the survivalist caches was just looking at the levelled lists in FNVEdit. Nitty the Kitty! 02:24, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Awaiting response from Tag

Kastera, thanks for relaying that message to Tagaziel. It's been 3 days and I haven't heard anything back from him, while I'm sure he must have read it. I now have the suspicion it may be because he doesn't respond to people from Nukapedia anymore after that incident a few months back with Agent c. If that's so, can you ask him to confirm it? That way I'll know where we stand. Jspoel

I answered on Jsp's talk page. Not sure why he couldn't use his account here, though. Is the recovery acting up again? Tagaziel (talk) 17:19, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about that, we had a bit of an argument with Ant about that. We're currently polling u guise about the format we should adopt because, quite frankly, I have trouble understanding the current one when there are conversations concerned. Tagaziel (talk) 21:13, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

The reason the Appearances heading isn't in the bottom section is because it's a character-specific article item and as such it is included in the article-specific, rather than standard layout items box. The intent was to have the Appearances section appear last, above references. This is clear from the arrangement of the character-specific items, where it comes absolutely last, behind even notable quotes. Remember: It's supposed to be a summary of where the character appears and where they are mentioned. Tagaziel (talk) 07:46, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

The Appearances section is not part of the standard template, so that's why it appears last in the character specific layout items. The standard practice is for the Appearances section to be above References, as a summary of the article. Just like the Games template and the lead summarize which games the subject appears in and begin the article, the Appearances section close it.
To be honest, I'm in favor of abolishing the Appearances section entirely, as I was never a fan of it. Tagaziel (talk) 09:40, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
But it buuuuuugs me and I cry myself to sleep every night knowing that the Appearances section is not where I think it should be. Q_Q
On a more serious note, I wonder if we shouldn't just abolish it and merge it with the lead?
Finally, thanks for moving the page where it belongs, I make these very stupid errors occasionally. :) Tagaziel (talk) 06:09, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Can you weigh in?

Forum:Manual of style:Referencing dialogue format. Tagaziel (talk) 08:38, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Standardized references format

Hey there, I've set up a poll for the references format. It will run for 72 hours. You can find it here. Please vote so that we can finally have an unified format for the references. Tagaziel (talk) 15:41, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Concerning interaction project

That's an excellent idea. Since Fallout 2 shares the template with Fallout, you can get started straight away. Check with Ant, though, since I haven't yet redirected the FO3/FNV interactions template to the new one to minimize the transition chaos.--Tagaziel (talk)

Sorry, I figured that it would be better to at least add it to the page in question.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:03, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

No, Thank you for placing it correctly in the various articles.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:32, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

The Khans

I was wondering If you can help me with the Khans pages? I've merged the "History of the Khans" page with the Khans page as it was redundant, and I would like your take of merging the Great Khans page with the Khans.--Ant2242 (talk) 04:17, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Super mutants and ghouls

I was wondering, do you have any ideas on how to re-overview the ghoul and super mutant pages? They seem to repeat the same materiel and I believe we may be missing generic characters.--Ant2242 (talk) 06:48, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't know, maybe, I can't verify the characters in game past the charts I made with all proto numbers. All I know is for sure is that there are multiple un-referenced sections that seem to be both the same thing, and are not transcluded.

Ex. "Super mutant#Biology" and "Mariposa super mutant#Biology"

--Ant2242 (talk) 16:26, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Ref dump

I'm sorry but most if not ALL my personal pages is this. Adding Another ref dump page is not going to clear them up. Not to mention that a single reference can speak to multiple pages and topics. <:-( ;_; --Ant2242 (talk) 19:09, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Start with my profile page, then move to ALL the sandboxes, then comb though the dialogue pages, Most of which are not completed. I ref dump because I have yet to see any real use of these files on the pages that need them, dumping them onto another useless ref dump page is cluttering up my Useless to-do list. I will not let this waste of time and energy continue! My writing is terrible its worse then to actually just ref dump.--Ant2242 (talk) 19:31, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Missing M.A.R.Go.T.

M.A.R.Go.T.'s dialogue is missing quite a few lines and I have no Idea as to why. Do you know of any way to retrieve them?

For Example; I know for a fact that there is an option for telling it that you are part of the US Army. Another example is its mention of feral ghouls as not having body heat while emitting lethal levels of radiation.--Ant2242 (talk) 05:11, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't know how to find the geck ids for specific characters. Something that is desperately needed for the project, but I digress. Here's the proof of the US Army dialogue line.

I added them because he specifically mentioned them.--Ant2242 (talk) 05:14, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Regardless of their influence on Raul, he specifically mentioned them. Therefore they are addable to the infoox.--Ant2242 (talk) 05:37, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Forum:Missing concepts

I would appreciate your opinion in the matter.--Ant2242 (talk)

El Chupacabra

I believe you are correct, since in game - if I remember correctly - it's named "Nightkin" then this would in theory link to the "Nightkin (Fallout: New Vegas)" page... but since pages like these are a bit muddled I am having trouble with what to do with these missing/unknown generic character/creature pages.--Ant2242 (talk) 22:15, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

New minigun?

Would you consider the K9000 cyberdog gun and FIDO to be a minigun or machine gun variant(s)?--Ant2242 (talk) 03:44, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

I'm always changing headers to stay at the end as I go and I've already modified a lot of articles. I suppose we can just add a mention in the layout guidelines (pref. by modifying the requisite template) and just go through the wiki methodically moving the headings. Thoughts? Tagaziel (talk) 16:13, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Referencing policy

Yes, anything that developers/Bethesda/Whomever owns Fallout says that's not from within the game(s) themselves. Thank You for the help!!--Ant2242 (talk) 21:14, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for being a friend and standing up for me in the face of defamation. I will not be forgetting it anytime soon. 08:24, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Battle rifle/assault rifle

Hey Kas, if anything, the service rifle certainly doesn't meet the definition of assault rifle. An assault rifle is a selective fire weapon with burst or automatic fire modes included by definition. Even though it uses an intermediate cartridge, I'd still categorize the service rifle as a battle rifle. Tagaziel (talk) 18:33, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

The difference between the battle rifle and assault rifle is more with the type of combat that they are intended for. Battle rifles can have full auto versions and assault rifles can be extremely accurate at range. However Battle rifles are more often for the Designated marksman.--Ant2242 (talk) 18:54, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
Hey, don't sweat it. If I started recounting my research fuckups, we'd be here the whole day. I once claimed that the Enclave civvies weren't aware of the Project and the genocide and stuck to it for weeks on end. :)
Also, what's with the defamation mentioned above? Tagaziel (talk) 19:03, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
That's kind of a shitty thing to do. I swore off drama, though, especially since now I have a manager position at my company and I really have more vital things to do. :) Tagaziel (talk) 20:08, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Welcome back?

Hey there :)

As you've probably guessed by now, I didn't really have plans for a large-scale comeback - I was merely passing by as I was finishing my FNV playthrough (at last). Never really got around to do that due to wiki-stuff... Unfortunately, I still don't have the kind of time necessary to get involved heavily in wiki business again, but I suppose I should really take a look at some of the oddities caused by Curse's move to a new wiki skin (the misplaced tooltips, for instance) when I get the chance... -- Porter21 (talk) 09:44, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
