No, I don't remember GhostAvatar's bot, unfortunately I cannot trust bots after what they've done to our dialogue files. Virtually every single one was broken until recently. Now only the dialogue files from FO3 through FNVLR are broken, if they are even here. Such as the still missing Tactics dialogue. My FO3 GECK editor completely lacks all DLCs and I cannot figure out why. Combat weapon platform

Do you have any idea on how to proceed with the new "combat <weapon type>" platform and its retcon of the combat shotgun of Fallout 3?--Ant2242 (talk) 04:26, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

The "Combat <weapon type>" is clearly a new weapons platform that must have been introduced just to fill the needs of an increasingly strained supply line. For in Fallout 4 the "Combat shotgun", "rifle", and "sniper rifle" are all of the same weapon parts.

As for the "Combat shotgun" being a retcon of the Combat shotgun in Fallout 3, just add the receiver of choice, long stock, long barrel, drum magazine, front sight rings and compensator to the weapon. Because this video is not about all the vaults, nor is it 100% accurate. For example, there was no "discovery" of the chems within Vault 95, he was ordered to release them, that the revolt of Vault 111 happened within the first 180 days, that the overseer of Vault 81 never had a "change of heart" she was simply not informed until the last moment. Tumblr page

Hey, I've been keeping the Vault Tumblr active for a bit, but I've kinda strayed from the point of it to advertise for the wiki. Now that's not exactly a bad thing as the tumblr page is now 2x more popular than the facebook page, but I think I need some help with creating articles that advertise and get people to visit the Vault. Sounds good to me. I know I posted the power armor article already, though. Also, try to avoid posts that just links with text. People don't seem to respond to those that well. Try adding a picture and linking the photo to whatever article you're posting.

What's your opinion on what I have done so far with the combat armor and metal armor? How should we handle the modifications tables? Should we transclude them? I don't think that we can as the modifications themselves might change the appearance of the armor pieces. Creature/robot overviews and FO4AM characters

What exactly is our format for the creature/robot overviews? I always thought that it was all generics are on the game overview while the uniques are separate pages.

FO4 armor template update

I had to update Template:Create article/armor/FO4 for it had New Vegas parameters. Did I do it correctly? I also believe that the create page bar could use a review. For some reason there is two "characters" page templates on it.--Ant2242 (talk) 00:39, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

I am at a loss on how to proceed with them. Should I re-add them?
  • If "HP" and "Repair" are only for power armor, then shouldn't it be in the tables for the individual pieces, rather than the Infobox?
  • As for "Class", "'Standard', Sturdy, and Heavy" are technically their own armor sets, but how should this be if the format is "Armor (Fallout 4)" as the overview?
PS What are we doing with "Ballistic Damage"? Shouldn't we already have this? Am I missing it?

HP and Repair are only there to link to the table? Then shouldn't it be expanded upon? Also Is that repair uniform, or do modifications change the requirements for said repairs?

I've re-added the conditions and tweaked the descriptions. Also Ballistic Resistance (what I meant from above), Energy Resistance, and Radiation Resistance (Poison Resistance too) probably need a complete update. Template Ammo Creation and Syringes

We don't have a template for the ammo of the Creation engine. Should one be made, or should we just continue to use the one for Gamebyo?

Also what should we do about the Syringes? Should they all be a single page and thus treat them like variants to any other ammunition? Or should we separate them into individual pages and leave them as they are, with an overview? --Ant2242 (talk) 12:46, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

Holodisks, notes, and Companion Inventory format

I have recently added a separate Inventory box for Danse and Deacon, because their inventories change. One based on story progression and the other based on location. What do you think of this change? Is it appropriate? Could this be a standard going forward?

Holodisks and notes were always merged on the holos n' notes game overview pages, however should we separate them for FO4? They function differently now then they did under any game engine before. Template:Create article/mods/FO4 What do you think of the template's format? I was going for what we did with the FNV mods, but maybe we could also split the sections of the weapons? Also looking into this makes me believe that there is no "Laser Pistol" and "Laser Rifle" separation. That is to say they are both "Laser Gun" and the coding renames them biased on configuration. This goes as well with the "Pipe" weapons, them being both denoted by their action and then this other thing called "Pipe Gun". Far Harbor perks

Hello. Do you think, giving all these articles the disambiguation-suffix "Far Harbor perk" is a good idea? Okay, until now there are six pages with the "Lone Wanderer" naming. No, eight, just created the yet missing disambiguation page (see Content organization guideline, Naming #3) and a redirect to it:
According to the same policy, #3.6 a combination of game and another parameter should be used. So it seems, you're right with this naming, combining the game, "Far Harbor" and the object, "perk". Should have done a little research before criticizing you, sorry!
But to remain consistent, the Lone Wanderer (perk) then should be moved to Lone Wanderer (Fallout 4 perk). And with this, I say, we wait indeed until the facts are known. Help me to remember possibly making appropriate changes to the disambig page. I don't know when the add-on exactly will be released, or its contents.
(I tend to expand the consistency, though this wouldn't accord to the guideline, and move LW (FS) to LW (FS weapon) or simply LW (weapon), and LW (v) to LW (FO4 vehicle). No, was just out of taste and mood… Okay, then I'll change the other templates back to "and", when I revisit them later. Currently moving all "armor and clothing"-categories to "apparel"; items then are the next step on those templates.

Water fountains

The only time I remember filling a bottle of water from a water fountain was at Vault 111 and it made purified water, so I assumed that settlement pumps and fountains were the ways to get purified water. I don't remember filling any others at other faucets/fountains, so it may differ between different fountain locations. I will test it a bit and see what other locations give; it may be that "clean" places like vaults give purified water and "dirty" places such as BADTFL give dirty water. Blood Brotherhood update, freeform quests and trophy policy

I recently updated the Blood Brotherhood quest article. What's your opinion on it? I just want to ensure that I don't want to mess up something, such as the format, or our page quality. Also should we be splitting the freeform quests from their Perks (Lawbringer and Contract Killer)?

Also what exactly is our trophy policy? Merge the achievement into the quest infobox? Separate them? Merge the pages together, but allow for a separate infobox? --Ant2242 (talk) 00:23, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

2. I added them under both the "see also" and "related" infobox parameter.
2.a. Unfortunately while skimming for Freeform quests in the FO3 guide, I noticed that most are actually special encounters. Specifically unique to locations and/or resulting from the end of a quest. I believe that I should just make a list and then go through them all, then put the reasoning somewhere while reviewing the actual Freeform quests.

FO4 random encounters

Random encounters not so random. There are apparently seven kinds of encounters; static, fluid, general, campsite, animosity, treasure hunt, and chokepoint. I understand completely, I too will be in a similar situation soon enough. However back on topic, no I have not. All encounters are within these seven types. I am at a loss to explain the difference between the random encounters with the special encounters. Is there one? Also the page itself is just a guide port. I believe we should update the FNV .308 rounds page. Although well written, the FMJ is basically just the header. Maybe I'm missing something, but shouldn't the FMJ be inside the variants section? Armor modifications

I have created a navbox for all armor modifications, and have tried to add it to the mod pages. However in doing so I found that we already have the mods for the power armor. Shouldn't this page be merged with the armor page? I also changed the crafting table on "Rad scrubbers," hoping to improve on the page. What's your opinion of it? Oh, and finally, there are two sets of editor ids and base ids on the Rad scrubbers page. I believe I added the correct world object ones to the infobox, but should we just delete the others? The problem with that is those Editor and GECK ids are normally a part of the infobox. That whole table is an infobox for the modification world objects. I don't know. I know we can just use the colbox template if we wish, but these are world objects just like the multi-armor mods. So I don't know on how to proceed. I don't have the option to add the "Photovoltaic coating" to my T-51. Perhaps a glitch? In any case, if you are able, can you please make sure the description is 100% accurate to in-game. Crafting mods

I beg to differ, the crafting requirements for mods should be present on the page, for the simple reason that they reduce the number of clicks necessary to gather information on the modification requirements. There's no reason to force users to open a hundred tabs and then manually compare mods, when they can be accomplished by a simple list on the armor's page. Remember, User Experience is King. Infrastructure damage?

I don't understand what you mean regarding "infrastructure damage" on the Happiness page. I've never had infrastructure damage from having my defense equal to the number of settlers and I have done a lot with the settlement building portion of the game. --Trifler500 (talk) 23:20, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Well, in all of my settlements, the Defense stat changes from red to green when it equals or exceeds the number of settlers. One simple example I have is my Abernathy Farm, with only four people. Italicizing loading screen hints

IIRC it has to do with the way we format our references biased on the Wikipedia Manual of Style. For example, we wouldn't underline a book title, despite it being the grammatically correct thing to do.

Holos & notes, and more

I was thinking, shouldn't we going forward use the world object images as the icon? It would simplify the icon fiasco; no need to add more icons for the wiki when the games themselves would presumably be using the object images as the "icon" going forward.

Not here to argue - I just figure that this is a good chance to debate a bit.

What do you think about the way that writing in a singular sense purveys? We deal with a lot of unique content, that denotes its use; so when we deal with a generic item, it has always seemed strange to me that we wouldn't separate our writing style, to reflect the difference, and to avoid possible confusion among our readers.

Skeleton scenes

Because unlike any game before it Fallout 4 is the first to include lore accurate skeleton scenes.

Take Vault 75 for instance, to name a few - there is a Army skeleton handcuffed in the kitchen, several Vault-Tec scientist skeletons dead in the halls, and a scientist skeleton fallen from a locker in the changing room. This helps paint a picture for Vault 75. Namely that the children overpowered the adults, interrogated them and killed them before leaving. Been trying to work it into a rewrite of Vault 75 (User:Ant2242/Vault_75) but I have been staring at the damn thing for months! :-(

Another example is those unmarked APC locations, the one at Sanctuary Lake, the one with the power armor on the hill by West Everett Estates, or the one with the tank. (The links are the guide names.)

Speaking of West Everett, a lot of those skeletons are either the construction crew or possibly the Tourniquists and survivors of the hospital themselves.

Template for transcripts – literal quotes of ingame sources, except if the holodisks are of a conversation. For example, this includes the actual text of notes, terminals or holodisks.
If the holodisks are of a conversation, then the speakers – if identified – will be identified by their presented (in-game) title to the left of the spoken dialogue followed by a semicolon.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I've updated the template.

Now for the audio, its something that needs to be done before too much time has passed. Similar to the FO1/2/Tactics characters and creatures data. How many more years until the people can be found with the data on hand? Time is not our friend in this case.

The best example is the FO1/2 characters data project I had going for a while. I still have the program and the games on my old computer. Unable to acquire the proto ids the project ground to a halt, then (years later) I had to put it in storage. I plan on someday just going one by one and adding the data to the wiki before throwing it away. Unfortunately that's not going to be any time soon.

But... anyway back to the audio. It can be done, and I attempted to get the ball rolling on that project. However I was unable to figure out how to merge several lines together. They are still here on the wiki somewhere.

As for right now I plan on acquiring and adding as many FO4 dialogue files to the wiki and reviewing the audio holotapes. This is something that I know I can mostly do and its a project that's mostly completed (see: User:Ant2242/to_do_list).

PS Also some of the text holos/notes are not on the wiki either. Since we don't have the Raw game data page for it (they were also great for finding cut content) they are also going unfilled. Legion's Exterminated Tribes

The Ridgers tribe, the very first tribe that Caesar conquered, was completely exterminated down to the last man, woman and child without any exceptions due to their refusal to surrender whereas another unnamed tribe was exterminated sometime after Caesar's conquest of the Grand Canyon and its tribes prior to the First Battle of Hoover Dam whilst the Twin Mothers tribe was exterminated by Legate Lanius due to Caesar having deemed them unworthy of assimilation along with four other unnamed tribes for reasons unknown after the First Battle of Hoover Dam. NCR Military Size

I don't know, tens of thousands just seems too small though. Hundreds of thousands is more accurate for a variety of reasons, chief among them being that the NCR's overall population is easily in the millions by 2281. Consider this: the NCR's 2241 population was well over 700,000+ citizens (1 million+ people overall if one throws in transients and non-citizens) and would have been more than able to support a standing army consisting of tens of thousands of troops (probably 30,000-50,000). 40 years later the NCR could easily have an overall population between 2.5 million and 5 million each of which could support either a 350,000-strong (100,000 in active service, 250,000 in reserve) or 800,000-strong (150,000 in active service, 650,000 in reserve) military respectively. In either case the NCR Army has hundreds of thousands of soldiers at its disposal, especially given that even the most demeaning description of the Republic's military will ALWAYS describe it as massive on an unbelievable scale. Add-ons in "appearances"

If we really need to specify which game each add-on is in on every page (I don't see why, since the add-on page would say), then the wording needs to be changed. "Vault 118 appears only in the Fallout 4 add-on Far Harbor" sounds like a run-on sentence. A better alternative would be "Vault 118 appears only in Fallout 4's Far Harbor add-on."
