The United States Geological Survey (USGS) was an agency of the United States federal government before the Great War.

Background[]

The United States Geological Survey was responsible for studying the landscape of the United States, its natural resources, and the natural hazards that threaten it. The agency employed the scientific disciplines of biology, geography, geology, and hydrology to better understand how to utilize and protect the environment. After the Great War, former American soldier Randall Clark sought refuge in Fallen Rock cave in Zion Canyon, which was being used as a USGS research station until the team left, hoping to find their families.[1]

Appearances[]

The United States Geological Survey is mentioned in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts and Fallout 76.
