The United Kingdom (possibly the British Commonwealth) was a pre-war country, and the only confirmed member of the European Commonwealth.

Background

On October 14, 1066, the Battle of Hastings is fought in England as part of the Norman conquest, led by William the Conqueror.[1] In 1215 the Magna Carta was signed by King John of England and English barons, greatly limiting his authority as king and placing more power into the hands of the feudal government. On March 25, 1634 Lord Baltimore of the Irish House of Lords dispatched the first colonists to Maryland. They would land near the area that would later become Point Lookout aboard two ships, the Ark and the Dove.[2] On April 19, 1775....American Revolution.....On July 4. 1776 The United States Declaration of Independence is adopted by the Second Continental Congress, expressing general discontent toward British rule and announced the United States' intent to independently govern itself.

Before the Great War, the United Kingdom was made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The UK also controlled many overseas territories. During the post-Divergence years, the UK was the leader of the states in the Commonwealth of Nations and the only confirmed member of the European Commonwealth. No details are known about the state of the British Isles after the Great War.

The UK in Fallout

There are several references to the United Kingdom in published Fallout games:

Behind the scenes

  • "Allistair Tenpenny came to the Capital Wasteland from Great Britain to seek his fortune, so that alone tells you that the U.K. was also hit in the war. And if he came to U.S. to succeed, that says a lot about how screwed up Europe must be. So we just allude, a little bit, to the state of the rest of the world. We like to leave a lot to the players' imaginations, and somebody like Tenpenny serves as a catalyst for those thoughts." - Emil Pagliarulo[3]
