A Garden of Eden Creation Kit, or G.E.C.K., is a device created by Future-Tec, a division of Vault-Tec Industries, that was meant to revitalize areas of the wasteland. There were two kit models designed, both looking like a small, silver briefcase emblazoned with "G.E.C.K.". The first, according to Vault-Tec advertisements, contains all the seeds, fertilizer, and other equipment – including a cold fusion power generator and a basic replicator – necessary to start a new settlement after emerging from shelter. The other is a unique matter terraformer that recombines all matter within a set radius into fertile farmland. Each Vault was presumably issued with two G.E.C.K.s, except for Vaults 8, 13 and 101; Vault 8's extra G.E.C.K. got swapped with the Vault 13 surplus water chips that were ordered as backups.
