The Fallout 3 dialogue project is a project which aims to create pages that contain information from the dialogue files of NPCs that can then be referenced from other articles.

Scope[]

This project should affect any existing articles by expanding and verifying upon said articles content and context.

Guidelines[]

Every dialogue article must include the following:

An infobox which contains:

  • which game or DLC the dialogue appears in
  • the NPC that uses this dialogue
  • the vioce actor of the dialogue
  • the writer of the dialogue
  • the data file the dialogue is contained in
  • the name of the dialogue file
  • the total number of lines in the original files (not including the column title line)
For Example:
Fallout 3 dialogue project
FO3

To meet The Vault's quality standards, this article or section may require cleanup. Please help by improving the article.

If a character has multiple files, each file must be separate. For example;

|lines =## (CG03MrBrotch)<br/>## (MrBrotch)

Examples[]

Important quotes are quotes which can be used to establish the authenticity of the lore. Important quotes are to be grouped together by dialogue line. When adding the quotation to the page(s) it must be in the standard reference format.

Examples
Important quote:

Result:

The Lone Wanderer: "So what's your long-term plan for dealing with the Brotherhood?"
Henry Casdin: "The Brotherhood came out here to recover technology from the eastern cities and bases. If Lyons won't do it, then we will. And when we resume contact with the Western Elders, Lyons is going to be put in his place. Even if that place is in front of a firing squad."
(Henry Casdin's dialogue)
Note: Please note the context of the "Script notes" section of the table. These developer notes helps to clarify the context of the individual dialogue lines. Use Template:Tooltip to add them to the text, as in the example above.

Non-notable quotes are dialogue lines that would prove useless in verifying the authenticity of any particular Lore or notes. These quotes at are useful for the "Notable quotes" section in articles or as the opening quote of an article.

Unimportant quote:
Henry Casdin: "You'd better explain yourself, before I have to ask again, with lead."
Henry Casdin: "I suggest you get going now, before I start shooting."
The Lone Wanderer: "You've got a laser. Technically, you'd be asking "with highly focused light.""
Henry Casdin: "<grumble> You've either got a death wish, or a pair of stones bigger than hand grenades. Say, you seem to have some smarts in you, and with your sort of guts, maybe you can help us out. Interested in collecting technology for us?"
(Henry Casdin's dialogue)
