The technician (along with his comrades, as other technicians who could come if he dies) helps the player character in the Secret Vault. In order to give the people of the Vault a chance to evacuate from the doomed facility, the Initiate is send to the Vault mainframe, and is assisted by a technician. If the technician dies, another will come to help, and respawns just after the previous one dies.
However, when a technician does his work near terminals, he is killed by a Tesla robot.
