The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon.
The tank gun is a big gun that is mounted upon Sherman tanks, and are only usable by the second passenger.
The most devastating weapon for group attacks, the mounted tank gun destroys almost anything in one shot; however, tank shells are very rare, and having to keep the tank in good condition makes this weapon hard to use continuously.

A mechanically controlled cannon mounted onto a Sherman tank, the tank gun has seen heavy modification over the years since the Great War, and is now seeing specialized use against the Calculator and its robotic forces. Use of this cannon requires the gunner to control it from within the tank, and will be rendered inoperable should the tank be destroyed.
