Talus is one of the hardest working members of the Brotherhood, responsible for keeping Initiates in line and focused on their training. He usually oversees training classes on the first level of the Brotherhood and makes sure the Initiates pay attention. The threat of Head Paladin Rhombus coming in to deal with frivolity or spending a night on perimeter patrol seem to work well. Talus is, in fact, close friends with Rhombus, whom he also considers to be a mentor, idol, and father figure.[2]
As his deputy, he is also able to authorize withdrawals from the store room, up to and including suits of T-51 power armor. He is also responsible for assigning scout missions. Talus was responsible for sending out scouts to the northern wastes that failed to return. As a result, he's under particular scrutiny from his superiors.[3]
