So... why is no one bothering to create this page dispite the fact that it is in Fallout New Vegas? I just find it odd that no one is contributing but rather deleting it. Maybe give it a try. --174.3.23.126 02:22, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

how in God's name did you get to this page? YuriKaslov-M1911 small Yuri Kaslov 02:24, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

speculation[]

It seems to me that the intention was to create two seperate groups, each with their own Overseer. Now, whether they are already paranoid insane patients or there is a gas being pumped in, I don't really know. All I know is that there is severe paranoia going on between the Red sector and the Blue sector. Also, it might be affecting the convicts inside considering the conflict going on. I don't want to edit the page without getting some feedback on my theory. 128.82.12.166 22:09, October 20, 2010 (UTC)Desertfox

Location[]

Vault 19 resides in a deathclaw-inhabited parking lot between Bonnie Springs and Whittaker Farmstead. It's surrounded by deathclaws, coyotes, and (occasionally) fiends. Vault 19 is fairly hidden in a valley. --24.4.218.122 07:10, December 22, 2010 (UTC)Tom A.

location wrong[]

I tried to find a parking lot for hours (4 hours seriously) but i did not find it i search every corner. could somebody be more specific please?

The vault 19 main access reside really in a parking, at the west of the Wihttaker farm, on the edge of the road. The vault 19 can be also reached through a cavern near the Wihttaker farm, but only with some special card gained in the vault or on specific NPC.

Go north from the Yantgze memorial and the very first y intersection for roads you come to on the map, take the right, or east road goind straight right and you'll come to the parking lot on the left hand side of the road. If you hit wihttaker farm then turn around and look again. Also, when you get to the parking lot, the sewer grate entrance is inside the toll both.

Reference?[]

Could this be a reference to Team Fortress 2?

No, it is a reference to Vault 19, from Fallout New Vegas.

This has definitly something to do with TF2, the (first?) terminal you encounter in the Blue part has a note on it. I think there's a RED SPY in our part blabla.. we all know enough about TF2 and Spies don't we?--SaveTheSpycrabs 07:24, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

it probably is a TF2 referance.--Chargersphinx 20:51, October 31, 2011 (UTC)

Sulphur caves[]

What appens if you blow up both the sulphur caves AND the vault with C4? do you get reputation or karma??? Is it worth blowing up the vault aswell? Bio Enhancment 411 16:52, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

the metal armor loot is random but i believe there is always c-4 (somewhere)  Dr. F  (Talk) Home 03:48, December 5, 2010 (UTC)

Convict[]

I was just opening the door to the stairs up to the Overseer's elevator, when I heard someone talking. I nearly shot the convict who apreared to have come through the closed overseer's tunnel, and made his way back up to the atrium. This happen to anyone else? The Emporer 22:29, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

Bugs[]

Does anyone think we should create a bugs page? I haven't noticed many, except that when I tried to enter the Blue section, both of my followers stopped at the door, as if I'd ordered them to wait there. I had to go back and toggle between wait and follow me a couple of times before they accompanied me again. And when I left the vault, one follower was lost inside (i.e. the game glitched, as if she was waiting), although having the time lapse three days did the trick. Funny enough, she wasn't there when I entered the Atomic Wrangler, but she followed me out. Guess the Van Graffs have a secret tunnel in their back room or something. Also, there were two vault uniforms piled on top of a dresser in the Blue section. After removing one, the other wouldn't budge (and wasn't recognized as an item by the HUD, either). Ava Elzbieta 13:27, November 10, 2010 (UTC)

In the sulfur mines, if you go directly left after first entering, there's a small cove. It's almost impossible to be hit by fire geckos if you go to the very end of the cove and lure the fire geckos towards you. This trick does not, however, work with nightstalkers. They're small enough to go through. --24.4.218.122 07:14, December 22, 2010 (UTC)Tom A.

Not sure if it is a repeatable bug or a one off but entered the blue key door on second level (two fire geckos behind door) and after I killed them both, system locked when looting the gecko. PS3 --Drkkgt 07:21, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

RE: Companions Stuck at Blue/Red Doors Walking away until your companion stops at the closed door then returning behind them and pushing them past the door way seems to be the only simple fix I could get to work. Walking to far away and my companions would wander off, assumedly to find their own way back to me as they often do when I cross terrain they don't seem to be able to... Wasn't sure this belonged on the main page... --Ndmorespd 23:33, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

Quest bug[]

I actually found the sulfur caves early in the game but didnt find the vault till now (almost lvl 30 soon). Since I cleared it , the quest related to it would be so called "completed" with the geckos dead.

When I entered the vault , everything was lootable without karma loss(yellow). Not sure if that is a bug. I also recently killed the powder gangers at NCRCF by betrayal , expecting Samuel Cooke to be hostile when I read about the vault.

When I talked to him , asking for work/ asking what was there to do ( i reloaded cause of the bug) , I could say select the option that I killed all the geckos and there was no way for him to give me the blue sector access card. The second time , I waiting for a NPC to open the door to the sector and found 2 blue access cards.

Also I believe the sulfur cave tunnel to vault 19 is disabled if you have not discovered vault 19. Intentional? Most likely . Realistic? No

Under the Blue side Overseer's Desk[]

I foound that when reading the terminal in the Overseer's office, it said there was a door under the desk. There is no way to get down there without using no clip. There is a terminal UNDER his desk that unlocks the desk. There is also a door beneath his desk that is labeled "INACCESSIBLE". Is Vault 19 incomplete or was it made like this? Im just curious. Also, I might add that under the red Overseer's desk is just a hall and a place where a door should be, but it's not there.

You can walk there from the Sulphur Cave underneath the vault.
also there was a broken terminal on the overseers desk which would have been used. the reason the way to access the elevator was only from under the desk was so that there was a quick way to escape but also meaning the player had to go through all the levels first--92.10.238.10 00:20, December 29, 2010 (UTC)

Journal entries and ternimals[]

SOOO... Why has no one updated the page to contain any mention of the many many journal entries around the vault, including in the overseer's office which explains that they are trying to manipulate and study paranoia, but have to do it with no subliminal messages or drugs/chemicals??? And where is the door it gives you a password to???````

Influence of Vault 19's experiment[]

When first entering the vault it gave me quite a few memories of an experiment that we had studied when covering social psychology.

Quite a few elements of this Vault have quite clear relations to a real study conducted under the name of "The Robbers Cave experiment" The study and this vault link in both the purpose, operation all the way to complications, I'm almost surprised there was no mention of a movie night.

But in this the main connections are the creation of an In group and an out group (red and blue as opposed to Eagles and the Rattlers of the robbers cave experiment) between 2 groups of people that quite possibly had no previous relation yet once labeled within this group they will associate themselves with this group, this can lead to discrimination against the out group.

another link between vault 19 and this study is the water problem suffered. In the study it was a problem of water shortage that the groups must combine to solve, yet in the vault the sulfur created a sense of paranoia within the groups creating a sense of distrust towards the other group as they accused each other of sabotaging the purification filters, Whilst in the study the damage is linked to vandals from an outside group yet due to the nature of the vault there was only the members of the out-group to blame.

To me this Vault does seem like a very large nod to the study, if you wish to have a look at the study here's a link, it takes a bit of reading but is quite interesting http://psychclassics.asu.edu/Sherif/ --elboydo 15:04, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

This may be a tad offtopic, but do the journal entries and clinic case files remind anyone of the tension between the paitents and staff in One Flew Over The Cukoo's Nest? It may just be the nature of the setting, but the mystery, deception, and hostility between the administration and the general populace was in my mind strikingly similar. 68.40.30.172 00:08, September 19, 2011 (UTC)

Quick question[]

Does my reputation with the Powder Gangers affect how the ones in Vault 19 react to me? I noticed that even if I am Vilified, some Powder Gangers won't attack on sight, so I guess every offshoot group checks rep individually.

If i'm right the powder gangers in vault 19 are just linked by ingame dialogue to the powder gangers so killing any of the escaped convicts or sam cooke will not change your powder ganger rep and they will not be hostile regardless of your relation to the powder gangers. --86.30.187.34 15:14, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Red Vs. Blue?[]

could it possibly be a small reference to popular online machinima red vs blue? one side's red and anothers blue, they oppose eachother, the one medic is neutral... i dunno, it's just sort of what i thought of.

I'm fairly certain the concept of red and blue being opposing factions has been around for a while, longer than RvB. YuriKaslov 22:57, April 12, 2011 (UTC)

No its not a red vs. blue referance shut up dumbass--Chargersphinx 20:53, October 31, 2011 (UTC)

Can't find all the C-4[]

There needs to be a clarification on where the C-4's are at, using the 360 I've only found the two C-4's between the vending machines and the clinic, the third one mentioned is confusing, is it located OUTSIDE the vault? or in the sulfur caves below the blue terminal, also, I can't find the 4th one, and i've tried throwing dynamite behind both couches in the actual living quarters and in the blue side on the first floor, both times using turbo to catch any flying C-4.

The one you are looking for is not outside the vault but in the sulfur caves outside the hallway to the locked elevator leading up to the Overseer's Office.

Vault 19 background[]

I deleted some information about the fate of this vault's inhabitants because I could find no in-game reference to it. The writer said that the inhabitants probably abandoned the vault because of sulfur fumes from the caves. If anyone knows of a source for this information please feel free to add it back in.-LawdyMissMaudy 01:30, August 25, 2011 (UTC)

i think this is because the powder gangers complain about the smell

hostile/rep[]

How do you get them to not be hostile? I know they aren't considered part of the powder gangers...? they are the last ending I need for my third playthrough. All previous times I killed them, and this time I'd like to help them, but they are all hostile to me. I betrayed them to the NCR in the other part of the powder gangers, but since they weren't technically part of the same faction, I didn't think it would affect it. However, I'm starting to think that the only thing that changes the hostility might be through dialogue in the other quest... Roflmaomgz 07:05, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

If you have killed Papa Bear of the Great Khans, or perhaps villified by the Khans, they will become hostile to you. This may have been your problem?
I only have 'yes' men around me. Who needs 'no' men? 23:48, September 8, 2011 (UTC)

should this be added to incendent housing / safe storage on page[]

i have been using this place as a base for some time now and as long as i have used it the garbage cans inside the cafeteria area are safe storage so should this be added or not

Wrong link[]

vaults in the introduction paragraph explaining that its a vault-tec vault is currently linked to locations.. its supposed to link to the list of vaults right? I'd fix it but I'm not entirely sure how and/or if my assumption is correct.. Nutinurmacaroni 03:42, October 17, 2011 (UTC)

How many total convicts are there?[]

I'm trying to give them all power armor just for laughs but I'm having a hard time counting how many convicts there are. I know there's 1 in each overseer office, but there's a bunch in the cafeteria and other places. Any help would be appreciated! --Felix BrehhUser talk:Felix Brehh 01:19, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
