You can easily kill them with the incinerator (flame thrower). You need it at about 60% condition and around 800 ammo. Stand on the rocks near some deathclaws and light them on fire. Once they burn out, jump off the rocks and shoot a pistol or some other small gun to attract their attention. They'll come running back. Jump back on the rock and light them on fire again. Using this method can easily eliminate all of them, but it will take around 1-2hrs.

Sloan/Miner Rep[]

You get increased rep in Sloan (with the miners) when you kill the Mother and Alpha deathclaws. You also get a reward (it's small, don't remember the items)

Another easy way to clear the deathclaws out of the quarry (or anywhere else for that matter) is the level 2 Hunter perk. With a high luck, a Sniper rifle build you can kill all of them at around level ~10-12 provided you have a Sniper rifle, high Guns and Sneak skills.

Map Bug?[]

I keep seeing a companion Triangle with the name Victor around Quarry Junction, but upon arriving at the spot, there's no one or anything there, just rocks... Bug or Glitch? Nosferus 21:47, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Yup, just a glitch victor is dead for me but he is in goodsprings cemetery for me.

Will Sloan help?[]

It's quite easy to kill the deathclaws actually inside the quarry, I just used incendiary ammo in my anti-material rifle but the real pain was afterwards trying to get to the great khan camp as just outside the quarry if nstead of turning left to go into the quarry you go forward along the road there's 3 deathclaws waiting and it was really difficult to deal with them ended up with me placing two rows of two mines ready for when they charged and furiously switching between shooting (with a light machine gun) and the pip-boy to use stimpaks and sunset sarsparilla's ended in an awesome way though with both Boone and ED-E down I was furiously backing away from two deathclaws that were left and managed to down another one and with the last one still furiously swiping at me I kept on backing away and ended up going between these two rocks which the deathclaw couldn't fit through just like what happens in several movies, was awesome. After killing it I realised I was about 10 metres away from Sloan and wondered if they'd help kill the deathclaw if it got into town or would it just massacre them all?

I'd assume they would try to help but get massacred.

Notable Loot: Ranger Sequoia?[]

Can't seem to find the Ranger Sequoia that is listed in the notable loot section. It might just be that it fell through the world or something, or the information is incorrect. I'm on the PC version. --Distracted Ghost 21:37, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Same for me on PlayStation 3Icon ps3. I could not find a Ranger Sequoia at this location...made a very thorough sweep of the entire area. Eganio{Talk} 07:51, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

Either some idiot trying to get his edits up, a modder, or a buffoon trying to waste your time. The Ranger Sequoia is located at Camp Golf. --DeathclawAlpha 19:31, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

Deathclaws still there[]

I killed the Mom and Dad deathclaws completing the quest but unlike it says the deathclaws are still there, even after more than a week in game. Anyone else experience this?67.151.100.72 06:20, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Which deathclaws are still there? If you have killed the matriarch and alpha male, they should never respawn at this location (I have returned several times, and they have never respawned for me). However, if you have not killed all the "regular" deathclaws in the area, they may respawn. Does that help? Eganio{Talk} 19:30, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

Repairing the generator[]

After I repaired the generator, Chomps only paid 2 $100NCr rather than the 5 listed in the article. He payed another 5 when I killed all the deathclaws. PS3 1.04 not sure if this is a change with the update - can anyone confirm? --Drkkgt 00:41, March 2, 2011 (UTC)

Another kill method[]

If you shoot the deathclaw on the right ledge as you enter and then draw him out and kill him, you can go up the ledge and keep heading to the back (sneaking slowly, I didn't use a stealthboy) until you find a ramp on the right side. climb to the top quickly. The deathclaw just behind will notice you but he doesn't appear to be able to climb up as well so I just sniped him with the ratslayer and armor piercing rounds. (I didn't have the supressor for the sniper rifle at the time.) From here, I could snipe all the other deathclaws except for one and it was high enough that I could shoot, wait a second for them to stop looking for me, then shoot again. Took them all out without any of the others ones ever getting close to me. Just leavev your companions out of it though. Ed-E likes to run in and fight. --Drkkgt 17:19, March 2, 2011 (UTC)

Yet another kill method[]

I can't believe no-one has noticed this yet, but in the quarry on the right hand side is a large red crane. Now, it is possible to jump up on to this and pick off the deathclaws from there. With this method, it's possibe to kill the Deathclaws at a very low level, providing you have enough ammunition. The Deathclaws will panick and run around because they have no way of attacking you, just like many other melee creatures. Hope this helps all the noobs out there. --Wiseman of the Wastes 09:51, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

Copied from Matriarch's Den talk page[]

Does this deserve a location page?[]

The description makes it sound like just a spot on the landscape like any other... If it's not a marked place, isn't an indoor location you can enter, doesn't appear in any quest line... Yes it has good loot but does that make it a location? Was the name assigned by anyone official, or just the guy who created this page? 87.194.241.226 15:50, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

I second the sentiment. This pages content is just part of Quarry Junction and ought to be deleted.--Xclockwatcher 20:24, May 24, 2011 (UTC)

Still here?[]

Why isn't this page just folded into the quarry junction page and deleted? --Xclockwatcher 18:06, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

It is now. Well, redirected as opposed to deleted. Better to redirect than delete. --Kris User Hola 18:43, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Do any of the Deathclaws respawn[]

I never killed the alpha male or mother. They actually glitched out of the game somehow, but seem to still be considered alive by the game as I can't complete the Claws Out quest and the other deathclaws stuck around long after they vanished. However, I noticed the deathclaws I do kill seem to stay dead. Are they supposed to respawn?--Darth Oblivion 23:32, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Super Mutant at Quarry Junction[]

While killing deathclaws in quarry junction I saw a super mutant through my scope. He wasn't alive or moving just standing there. It was near a bulldozer, I beleive, past the entrance to the quarry as it opens up. It only seems to show up if you are looking through your scope or binoculars because it disappears when you zoom out. Maybe a ghost... can anyone confirm this?

I saw a super mutant with an incinerator go up against a deathclaw and die in one swipe, probably came down from black mountain but I haven't had that bug. --Girgir 08:01, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

Near Quarry Junction is Black Mountain. The spawn point nearest to QJ that spawns Super Mutants is in the middle of the street that enters Black Mountain. I truly believe that it is possible a Super Mutant followed a Deathclaw into the Quarry and got stuck. --DeathclawAlpha 19:27, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
