Removing the "nod to KotOR' comment, as the Mysterious Stranger has appeared in previous FO games, and thus predates SW:KotOR. --Nick East 10:28, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Can you kill him?!?[]

Can you!?! From the one and only --Combat shotguner╔════╤╤╤══ ¬ Scoped pistol master! ⌐ 23:50, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I think he's essential by default. I've knocked him unconscious a few times - there's a discussion about this going on. Jdw 15:58, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I've replied on my talk page. Jdw 23:26, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I was in one of the sewers with a gas leak and as soon as he shot at the target the place exploded and the mysterious stranger caught on fire and was thrown and fell on the ground and that was the most hes actually taken damge ive seen in alll my playthroughs

Opinions[]

On an added note its looks really cool if he appears from behind the PC. this is increased if it is the first time he appears after getting the feat.

Yeah it looks pretty cool when you stand side by side with him. Hahah he's like Dirty Harry, ending any gunfight with six shots or less.MaseFace 17:20, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Possible to Spawn?[]

I'm on the 360 but I'm thinking about buying the PC version so that I can play around with the console and game mechanics. One idea was to see if I could interact with the Mysterious Stranger, I know that you can spawn items and teleport to NPCs so I thought, is it possible to spawn the MS using the console and keep him there? If so, what would be the procedure? Thanks Revelations 21:6 23:30, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

You can spawn him, I just tried it after reading your question. To do it on the PC, open the console and enter the command:
player.placeatme 5f9ce
When you close the console, you have a guest! You can talk to him, but there's no dialogue. You just get a blank box. I don't know whether or not he will fight enemies, as I summoned him in the Vault 101 exit tunnel when I was alone. I also do not know whether or not this will break the Mysterious Stranger perk, so consider yourself warned. If you want to kill him, you'll have to open the console and enter the following:
setessential 5f9ce 0
Then, without leaving the console, click on him so that it says "Mysterious Stranger" at the top of the screen, and then enter:
kill
...and when you leave the console this time, he's dead. No, you can't loot his gun, however. You still have to use the console command for that, which is:
player.additem 50f92 1
I even tried giving myself the gun and then dropping it, because I was trying to create a savegame file with the Stranger lying dead in the Vault 101 tunnel. I figured it would be funny to upload and share with other people. I learned, however, that once you DROP the magnum, you can't pick it back up again. Phooey!
P.S.... I also don't know if he will fight back if you attack him. And I'm too scared to find out. You go first, okay?? LOL 68.53.137.48 17:14, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

he does attack i tried in Fallout new vegas i was in god mode so i dont know how much he damage

Making him talk[]

He may use a Default voice, so if anyone can make him speek (like a ham radio just will only have the 'see you' option), can someone get him to say some random thing so we can get an actor on his userbox. - RASICTalk 23:33, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

I'm decently sure he has a VERY default voice. Ergo, the one used by the Enclave soldiers and officers on top of the Jefferson Memorial. From what I gather, that's also the one used by the Dead Chinese Commando beacon. Nitty Tok. 23:35, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

So who's the actor that does them, it's better to put them in the actor slot rather then leave it blank, even if he dosn't speak. - RASICTalk 23:38, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

OK, that works too, didn't know you could do that to a box. - RASICTalk 23:52, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

All that leaves is level and refID and the box is fully done - RASICTalk 23:57, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Frendly Fire[]

This guy has a knack for spawning behind me, however his bullets go straight through me and hit the enemy with no problem... So i dont know about that bit where players get shot, if it happened to someone, let me know so i can lol. thx --Had24get 20:06, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

Knockdown Glitch[]

\I was using the Victory rifle on a super mutant Overlord, and MS appeared in my line of fire. Since I was crouched, I got the auto-critical hit and knocked him down. I was able to interact with his body as if I was pickpocketing him, and there was a copy of his outfit and hat in the inventory. I took them, but they dissapeared. Currently trying to copy this glitch in order to get a screenshot. I play on X360.Kale Nekona 03:19, February 28, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not really sure how this is possible, since MS doesnt show up until after you've finished shooting. TheShotgunShogun 00:06, October 20, 2011 (UTC)

Merge removal[]

The Stranger is a verifyable NPC to go with the Perk. Nitty Tok. 17:51, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Wrong!! Wrong!!! Wrong!!!![]

Ok for one his clothes always stay the same unless you screw around with console commands and he always has his 44. Magnum. I mean really power armor and stuff like that.......

Son[]

Is it appropriate to have the lonesome drifter listed as his son? It is never stated that he is and it's only assumed. Boone123 00:36, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Chances[]

Just wondering if it is listed anywhere in the G.E.C.K. what chance there is of the Mysterious Stranger appearing in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Also, it should be discussed whether or not to leave The Lonesome Drifter as his son. There is a lot that points to The Lonesome Drifter being the Mysterious Stranger's son, granted, but it is not objectionable fact, nor is it ever stated in the game. Gibsonites 03:27, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

It is an objectionable fact, just not an objective fact. An objectionable unobjective fact.--http://brianranzoni.com 19:11, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

I wonder...[]

I wonder if we'll ever have an outfit like that. I mean, it's just not fair!

Don't be a Nonlife, play fairly. 11:07, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Muggy[]

You know, I got to thinking, what would happen if you attacked Muggy in VATS, and he showed up? Would muggy die? Or just become unconscious? I don't have the perk this playthrough, so I can't test the theory. Silverscreen 07:34, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
