I was running around with about 24000 lead and I did not know that it actually had weight. I got rid of all the extra lead so now I have room for the unique minigun which is awesome.

1,000 units of lead weighs 1,4 lbs according to the game. So 715 units of lead equals 1 pound of carried weight.

I assumed that it was weightless but what I was carrying didn't add up with the carry weight so I checked my inventory and noticed that I was hauling around over 100,000 units.

When I dropped the lead, my carry weight went from 210 to 70. This is mostly a problem for hand loaders becuase taking ammo apart will leave you with a lot of lead.

The hidden weight section in the notes is incredibly interesting. I would have never known.--HelpMeRhonda213 00:17, March 31, 2011 (UTC)

Pack rat?[]

Does pack rat perk affect this? as its hidden weight is quite annoying for me, i once had 100 pounds of pure lead...--That dude with an unoriginal user name 20:17, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

I was wondering why my weight was so damn high. I realised it was because I was carrying around nearly 300k lead. As soon as I stashed that, my weight went from nearly 300, down to ~130. Aliantha 14:35, July 23, 2011 (UTC)
