Yeah, I know it's too early, but I want it to be easily googlable just after FO3's release, so that it's first in Google already when people start google for it. Ausir 22:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Sci-Pulp What?[]

Just a little unclear on the whole Sci-Fi Pulp Fiction line. In essence, it's saying "Science Fiction Pulp Fiction"... which is just nuts imo. Unfortunately, I cannot think of anything better at this time... --HoZKiNZ 22:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Science Fiction Pulp Fiction may look like bad English but its probably the only way to describe what Fallout is based on. Pulp Fiction is a genre, of which there are sub-genres including a Science Fiction sub-genre. --Webgiant 17:12, December 25, 2009 (UTC)

Speculation[]

At the "What new enemies will appear" Section it says "Although its highly likely that enclaveghouls and super mutants will appear" As no information has been released regarding the game,i think it should be removed from the page Werewolfhell 12:44, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

can there be a fallout4[]

you know theres the ending at fallout3 you know you get radeated when that happens some of the evclay comes in and takes you to there plan with four wastland people sprap to a oparation table like you one of the evclay go's to the wastland people and shoots them in the head and then a rocket hits the plan then you crash in to big ben and then you see an evclay standing up a gun to your head and then someone shoots one bullet to the head of the evclay and then you see the steeloutcast's (thay look abit like the brotherhood) un tiring you then you get up then you talk to them say thanks for saveing me then they say we try to save as meny people as poseyble and then you start walking with them and then you jump in frount of one of the people to save his life there was an evcaly person about to shoot the person who saved you and then you get your arm blow off then the evclay person dies then the person who saved you said thanks for that i can get you a replacement for that arm(the steeloutcast's base) then you get a pit boy arm you can get levels up and you can get levels up on the arm then it upgrades you wepons as well i might carry on tommorrow

Thank you for sharing that with us. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 18:22, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I expected something meaner out of you, Grizzly. Nitty 15:08, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
I...I just...WHAT? I'm sorry, or maybe not but this is clearly the ramblings of some mindless twit! have you even played any of the games? for that matter have you even seen a grammar teacher? spelling? non of this is consistent with...ANYTHING! big Ben? England? the enclave is U.S. shadow government! and were did the plane come from? perhaps the caretakers of this wiki would consider only registered users edit things.--Katikar 15:18, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Elder Scrolls V[]

It was said recently (idk where) that Bethesda is only making Fallout 4 and they are taking a break from Elder Scrolls so you might want to remove the part about Elder Scrolls V. Just a thought.

That's too bad, if true. Bethesda ought to stick with Elder Scrolls and leave Fallout to the original team (those who care about dialog and story). Fallout was never a sandbox, while TES is. Entirely different philosophies. I wonder what Obsidian could do with TES, though... --DarkJeff 20:24, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

bethsoft needs to help with fallout so the series can actually make some money and stay around. it's far more likely that due to production and time costs that bethsoft along with people they allow to will continue to make multiple fallouts per system life span \ probably around 3-5 games about 1-2 every year, but... it looks as if they may only make a elder scroll every console because it's more profitable to only make one early on with all the available technology from the last games i.e. the fallouts and oblivion, then come out with multiple DLC's and exspansions all the while seeling dlc's in bundles then waiting 2.5 years to release GOTY edition.

bethsoft will mass produce fallout with the help of others and because they csant help but make an oblivion game. bethsoft's sequal to fallout, the ones with numbers in them will do poorly but get bought because the conformist "GEEK" loves things that are cannon. eventually when the new xbox comes out bethsoft will make a elder scrolls with all the stolen idea's from the not main storyline fallouts and it will be a hit.

afterwards in a final act to make more money and not get absorbed into Microsoft they will declare their fallouts to not be cannonical and make fallout NV and all of the obsidian made fallouts to the main story. they will be rereleased on what will be the next xbox's equivalent of xbox originals, along with the first two as the true fallout trilogy so NV will become 3,for buying it you will recieve a T5-b powersuit for your avatar, or as they'll be called in the new xbox, Microtars.

after this bethsoft will rerelease theirs as a compilation, more likely than not with some cheesy tagline like "you've played the full story now get the side story". 2 months later they will rererelease this but with a scoped guass rifle for your microtar.

all of this of course is only if microsoft tries to eat bethsoft like a big game of real life capitolist cubivore. and they will right after apple comes out with the Iplay.

I played Fallout 1 briefley years ago, I got Fallout 3 in 2008, Bought all the DLC, and Played the hell out of it. I Recentley bought The Elder Scrolls IV, Since it was very cheap on Steam, even though I've never been a fan of Monsters, Magic and stuff like that. And disregarding the fact that the Oblivion engine was an older version of the FO3 One, I thouroughly enjoyed it. I've recentley taken a liking to Fallout 3 again, and with NV coming out in less than 2 days, I'm pretty excited for that. But I'm also looking forward to Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls V --24.215.93.120 11:41, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

maybe co-op[]

why cant fallout be a co-oprative or game so that you can play it with ur mates.

plz consider bethesda

No. Go play Army of Two Two. Nitty 15:08, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
you are aware that bethesda doesn't read this right?

sorry guv, but fallout as a series would honestly not work in co-op. the item systems and quest setups would make it clunky and uneven, not to mention that in the latest two installments, just talking to someone or opening your inventory stops time.

P.S.: Mods, stop being so fucking snarky.

where is fallout 4[]

what i want to know is WHERE in the world fallout 4 will be set i know its likly to be set in USA but america is a pretty big place so im wondering where it could be. Maybe near the same location as fallout 3 im not sure but one things for sure, i sure as hell wanna know.

Well North America is a big place. I've got some ideas for what could be expected. --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

  • According to the Fallout Canon History, Canada was annexed by the U.S. immediately prior to the Great War. Canada allows for some of the "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" content to be easily re-used (polar bears, mutated "Bigfoot"-type creatures) and with a working vehicle such as a Vertibird you could go to all sorts of locations, including Alaska (the site of "Operation Anchorage"). The fact that the Chinese held Anchorage for a few years means you could run into more "Communist Chinese Ghouls". --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
  • The Midwestern U.S. hasn't been touched on yet, though this may be because most people think of it as boring. Since the Midwestern U.S. is full of rugged individualist farmers, ranchers, and survivalists, there could be a plotline similar to the "Haunted Farm" quest from Fallout 2, where a private survivalist underground bunker houses a group just as evil as the Enclave but completely in opposition to the Enclave. As the region is home to many a missile silo, the plotline could revolve around some fundamentalist religious/survivalist types re-aiming some unlaunched nuclear ICBMs to take out the "nests of iniquity" in the East and West Coasts. --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
    • Midwest appeared. See: Fallout Tactics and Van Buren. 11px-Naglowaa_se.gif Tagaziel (call!) 12:31, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
      • Neither one of those is considered to be Canon (and Van Buren isn't even a Fallout Game), so strictly speaking the Midwestern U.S. hasn't appeared yet in any Official Fallout Game. --Webgiant 02:37, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
        • VanBuren is canon as far as we're concerned. The presence of Chinese Stealth Armor, used in raids on Hoover Dam and other Limit-115 research installations (see American Intelligence Report) proves that vanBuren is canon. Nitty Tok. 02:42, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
          • Van Buren is not strictly canon, but there are references to it in Fallout 3, and there likely will be even more in Fallout: New Vegas. I'm pretty sure the New Vegas devs consider it part of their personal canon, given that they actually created it. And it is a Fallout game, even if a canceled one. As for Tactics, it actually is semi-canon. Major events are considered to be canon, even if some details aren't. Ausir(talk) 02:48, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
            • There is a much better point against Van Buren including the "American MidWest": Van Buren does not take place in the American MidWest. Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah are not a part of the "American MidWest", they are the American SouthWest. This also would mean that Fallout: New Vegas also does not contain American MidWest. --Webgiant 17:15, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
            • As for Fallout Tactics, while the action does take place in Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas, all Midwestern States (and Colorado, a Southwestern state), "Tactics" contradicts the entire Fallout storyline by the U.S.A. still possessing ample supplies of fossil fuels, as evidenced by gasoline powered engines (instead of nuclear-gasoline hybrids and microfusion electric vehicles), gas stations with full underground tanks, a raider base with large fuel tanks, and lots of full oil drums throughout the game. There are other problems, such as the lack of 1950s-style science fiction elements, ghouls who are damaged by radiation, modern weapons rather than Fallout weapons, Vault 0 being completely unlike Vault-Tec vaults, and other problems, but the fuel issue really does make "Tactics" non-canon. At best "Tactics" is terrible Fallout fan-fiction: no matter how many elements you include from the original books, Harry Potter would never go to bed with Severus Snape. --Webgiant 17:15, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
              • As I said, Fallout Tactics is officially semi-canon. Some details are not considered canon, but the general storyline is, as evidenced by the mentions of the Midwestern Brotherhood in Fallout 3. Ausir(talk) 17:25, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
  • Bethesda may consider latching on to the lucrative Hispanic market through a Mexico and South America Fallout. A new organization has just finished laying track for a working railroad network, and the player needs to get out of Dodge fast and go somewhere he won't be found for awhile. The player could end up in ancient Mayan ruins, now populated with the kinds of horrific mutated monsters normally found in Mayan temple paintings, and Guatemalan Ghouls who have decided to restore the old Mayan ways... --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
    • Doubtful. Fallout is about 1950s Americana. Besides, those places didn't really have an unique 1950s aesthetic and culture, amirite? 11px-Naglowaa_se.gif Tagaziel (call!) 12:31, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
      • Two words: Doc Savage. When you want to talk about 1940s and 1950s pulp fiction, one of the biggest names from that genre was Doc Savage. His home base was on the 86th floor of a New York skyscraper (probably the Empire State Building), he had a pre-Superman Arctic "Fortress of Solitude" (of the same name), he had quite a lot of vehicles, and he paid for all of this with...gold from a Central American mine given to him by the local descendants of the Mayans in the first Doc Savage story. Doc Savage, and all of his team members, read and speak ancient Mayan, helpful in the exact same way that Navajo was for keeping secrets from the Nazis. Rediscovering Doc Savage's home base, "Fortress Of Solitude", and his secret Mayan gold mine is a Fallout adventure only lacking a title. --Webgiant 02:37, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
      • Bethesda could create the new game with a Mayan angle in time for the gala 2012 events in 2012. After all, October 20, 2282 translates into the Mayan "Long Count" Calendar as 13.13.13.13.13, giving the game designers something to use as an apocalyptic date, especially in the tradition of Fallout triskaidekaphobia. Making the birthdate of Our Hero October 20, 2282 could make any 23rd century Mayans (who happen to have triskaidekaphobia) suspicious enough to trigger a few "prove yourself worthy" quests. Another one a lot further along is August 30th, 2304, which in the Mayan Long Count Calendar would be expressed as 13.14.15.16.17. --Webgiant 17:15, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
  • The folks who come up with plotlines at Bethesda have a fetish for H.P. Lovecraft stories (the Dunwich Building has been there from the beginning, but "Point Lookout" adds H.P. Lovecraft in spades, including an entire H.P. Lovecraft story from beginning to end, incorporating the Dunwich Building). Since the Commonwealth is the Northeastern U.S.A., and since the H.P. Lovecraft stories are largely based in the Northeastern States of the U.S.A., this is a perfect opportunity to make Fallout 4 a H.P. Lovecraft "love-in". Add in a working icebreaker boat (for Arctic missions) and new H.P. Lovecraft aliens which are in competition with the aliens of "Mothership Zeta," and you have a reason for Our Hero to venture north: the Commonwealth has discovered "things man wasn't meant to know" and needs help from its neighbors. Bethesda could even re-use content from its "Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners Of The Earth" game that came out a few years ago. --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
  • Many Fallout 3 characters came from Europe long after the Great War was over. Our Hero could be part of a "reverse colonization" expedition to take people unsatisfied with life in the Americas "across the Pond" to the "New New World": Britain and the other European countries. As these countries are home to quite a lot of folklore, there's a lot of material to draw from to populate a post-apocalyptic Europe. Modern mutant vampires in Romania, pixies in the U.K., strange Yeti in the mountains. --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
    • No, they did not. Moriarty and Tenpenny are the only two foreigners. 11px-Naglowaa_se.gif Tagaziel (call!) 12:31, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
      • Regardless of the number of character who traveled across the Atlantic to the U.S.A., the fact that two characters, traveling separately from each other, still managed to cross from Europe to the Americas, implies that there's a "go from USA to Europe" story in there somewhere. --Webgiant 02:37, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
        • Actually, we don't know if they traveled separately. It's very much possible that Moriarty's father was a member of Tenpenny's expedition. Ausir(talk) 02:50, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
          • Speculation aside, and even if you are right, the fact that anyone at all came over from Europe means there's a European apocalyptic culture which could be "re-discovered" by Our Hero. If they came over separately, then there are two routes. If they came over together, then there's a big boat available for use. --Webgiant 17:15, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
  • Finally, the old "land bridge" in the Bering Strait between Alaska and Russia may have resurfaced once again, permitting Our Alaskan Hero to travel from an Alaskan Vault in search of something important in what was once Communist Russia. --Webgiant 12:07, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

fallout 4 toronto nuff said

--- Toronto is most often beileved to be "Ronto" which is confirmed to be a major power in the post apocalyptic world. However if it is indeed the former Toronto, It's unlikley that a Fallout game will be featured in Canada, even if in the story, Canada was Annexxed. Reason being is a vast majority of the customers are American.. The same reason you dont see Axis Singleplayer campaigns in WWII games, perfectley Okay to slaughter Russians, Germans, Japanese, but it's the end of the world to kill a virtual American.

That being said, It would be very interesting to see a location set around the great lakes or something, one that featured multiple cities. Possible even covering two countries. For example, covering Toronto and Buffalo NY, Since they are relativley close together. As it stands though, there aren't very many big possibilities left for a unique FO4 Setting, Commonwealth "Boston", Texas, Midwest, Flordia, Chicago, New York City. And many of these options are strikingly similar to each other, or pre-existing fallout settings, "Like Boston, or NY being too similiar to DC, Or Texas slightly resembling Vegas, as far as the terrain goes." --24.215.93.120 11:50, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

Fallout 4 Setting[]

I would like to see it based in the general area of Minnesota Michigan and Wisconsin. You know cold areas where mutants and animals adapted by growing fur and instead of desert there would be snow (maybe with random snow storms?) I would laugh at a furry ghoul as I blew its head off thats for sure

Okay, NO. I live in Wisconsin, and there sure isn't anything interesting around here to bomb or to loot. No Glow, no Oil Rig, no Raven Rock, nothing.
Also, because ghouls are humans, they can't grow fur. Nitty Tok. 13:20, April 3, 2010 (UTC) PS, you furry hater. :P

I had been looking around at some of the other people's "wishlists" for FO4, The setting will undoubtebly be an American City. Possibly being Somewhere on the East Coast again, Boston or NY? *I beileve Boston is referred to as the Commonwealth now*, Chicago possibly? Toronto could be an option, but Unlikley it would be a full sized city.

I was also interested in the ideas of a European setting, but that is unlikley and highly unplausable as it would likley require a complete revamp of the fallout universe, as little was ever recorded about Europe, other than the Euro-Arab wars, and the USSR not dissolving.

Personally I think London would be a good choice, as I've been there before and it looks like a bomb hit it already.. But above all, One City Area I'd love to see, but never will, is Moscow. the game Metro 2033 had a very different take on nuclear holocaust. But the atmosphere of Post-war Moscow was amazing. Granted it wouldnt fit that well into the Fallout universe as the Soviet Union was not a major player, of the five major powers, USA, China, Europe, USSR, and the Arab Coalition, the USSR was the most silent, there is next to no information on the country in Fallout's Canon. Myself. when I first got Fallout 3, I wasnt aware that it was an alternate timeline, I thought everything was from a Nuclear war between America and Russia. I had no idea about China until I researched IN the game --Kastrenzo 11:59, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

I think a nuclear winter new york would be interesting. we haven't seen much snow in the series besides operation anchorage and jacobstown. i think i would be a cool look Festeseo 08:48, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

Fallout 4[]

The new engine used in fallout 4 (same as ES5) should incompass parcour such as prone, a variety of roles. This would make the game extremely interresting and take to an extreme. I wished i could climb on to the statesmith hotel and snipe all the mutants in DC. In addition, there should be vehicles, such as microfusion cell motorbikes, cars, and vertibirds to travel in between multiple wastelands... yea i said it. For instance, if it took place on the east coast 20 years after the liberation of the capital wastelend from the enclave, giving the capital wasteland brotherhood time to healthy expansion into New York, Boston, as far north as Ronto. Where conflict emerges with the prospering remains of the royal canadian armed forces and remains of the american army fighting over control of the canadian area. Although, canada wasn't hit by as many nukes so we see some pre-war achitecture like in new vegas. Both of which have powerful pre-war tech along with unique post-war power armor, and guns keeping in mind the fallout theme. Furthermore, there should be a variety of guns AND energy weapons such as russian, chinese, european and american weapons. Giving the player a variety of choices. The advantages and disadvantages should be conveyed similarily to Call of Duty. Instead of an M4 being an assault carbine it should be an M4. After all it's engraved of the weapon.

The other cities should be in ruin but with seperate factions fighting over the specified area so it's not repetitive. With a brotherhood of steel stronghold in each, or on the outskirts of each. Trying to gain influence. Fruit for thought.

Release Date[]

Doesn't late 2012/early 2013 seem a bit early for another Beth Soft game? I mean, after Skyrim, they'll probably take a few more years.
