Strike Team[]

How can I make him my strike team leader?

That pretty much happens automatically. You just talk to him at each point, tell him to wait by whichever target you want to take; then when you get there tell him either to wait while you scout, or to attack.Fiddlesoup 00:02, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Harkness[]

Anyone else noticed the striking resemblance to harkness? maybe he's who Pinkerton based the new face on?

Yeah if you think about it that is also evidence that dlc was ready when the game came out

They just reuse models, and we can pretty much blame that on it having to be made for consoles, since they have that limited storage space.
Frankly, I don't think that's the issue. They have any number of new faces in DLC for the consoles, including distinctive faces for people who they could get by with generic models for. A facial model for this game would take up virtually no space anyway. Remember all those sliders you tweaked to create your characters face? That's really all the game needs to know to make a new face for a character, and that's hardly any information at all.
There's one problem - there are only two or three kinds of textures for humans that can be altered, so that limits the variety a fair bit. That Furry Bastard 07:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright. Interesting to know, although it doesn't really apply to the subject at hand. Also, why did you reply in the middle of my comment? :/ --Honeybunch 23:59, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
And finally... it's not the same face as Harkness. A little bit similar, but just compare the pictures of the characters in their respective articles on this site. The faces are different.
To me, it looks like you were just looking for any way you could to espouse the superiority of PCs to consoles for game playing, and didn't actually consider whether what you were saying made sense. And don't get me wrong, Fallout 3 and games like it are definitely better played on the PC, if you've got a computer that can handle it. But not because of what you said. --Honeybunch 06:13, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Yea, he does look like Harkness. For the first time in the DLC, because my character looks like Harkness, I though the simulator cloned me. Firelance 20:42, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Hmm... I'm kinda late to the party here, but I'd like to clear things up. There are 3 sliders under the "Face" tab, Age, Complexion, and Hair Length, as well as an RGB setting for Hair Color. the Face Advanced tab, on the other hand has 112 sliders. 25 of these, labelled "asymmetry," seem to be unused. 55 are for facial geometry, and 32 are for textures. The ONLY thing that Harkness and Montgomery have in common are hairstyle, and even that is questionable. Montgomery's setting for hair is "HairDefault," while Harkness' setting is "NONE" (and thus, defaults to HairDefault). The rest of the settings vary widely. As an experiment, I changed the one detail they had in common and asked some friends to rate their similarity. The result was no one thought they looked alike. As for "re-using models," Each new character is handled as a separate "NPC" entry, regardless of what they look like. There would be no significant resources freed up in this system by look-alike characters. Also, there's a randomize button, so you don't save labor either.Fiddlesoup 00:02, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Capital Wasteland?[]

Something just occured to me. This guy only exist in the simulation so you can't bring him out. However, we know his ID. So that means we could spawn him using the console on PC when not in the simulation?--Amitakartok 12:17, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

I've been thinking the same thing for a while now but i play Fallout 3 on xbox 360 because my computer is evil. Can anyone try and spawn Montgomery? --BR Ninja15 22:45, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
It would depend on when you would stop the simulation to send him out of the Wasteland. So, more likely than not, you'll need to have the simulation quest stuck on in your game until you want to warp back in and get it finished, if you can even get a cell number. --96.243.180.70 21:29, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I've managed to spawn him on capital wasteland using his refID, and the commands enable and moveto player in the console. but he just stand still, won't move, and when you talk to him, he doesn't say nothing. aren't there any console commands that allow you to comand NPC, like, make them follow you as if they were your companion? looked everywhere for this kind of command, but couldn't find it.
  • It's seemingly impossible to spawn any NPC from the Operation Anchorage DLC that was IN the Simulation. I was able to spawn a Chinese soldier and a Strike Team Soldier but as soon as I removeed myself from the console command menu they immediately dissappeared.

Marine?[]

So...regardless of our assumptions, wouldn't it be assumed that his line of dialogue "That's how we do it in the Corps" kind of prove that Montgomery is or WAS a Marine at one point, maybe before joining Army Spec Ops or working WITH Army spec ops AS a Marine? I think the most obvious answer is that they just wrote him some conflicting dialogue without thinking about accuracy. But shouldn't this be considered canon that he was/is a Marine?

Or it might be a joint operation. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 08:09, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Maybe it's just a developer error. That does happen sometimes. People aren't perfect. 75.73.176.200 13:12, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Or, as I've stated in the forums, the Marines don't exist in the Fallout universe. Referring to "The Corps" does not prove he is a Marine in any way; the Army is comprised of several corps, so he could just be referring to his own unit. Or, Occams Razor, Bethesda screwed up. RadRuler 13:09, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

What does a combat knife have to do with this? </joke> Anyway, one of those is the most likely. Nathan Hale 14:11, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Deathclaw hands[]

Hello there! I was playing the listening post section of the game and I was suprised to see that Sgt Montgomery had deathclaw hands. I thought they were antlers at first but on closer inspection his hands had changed to deathclaw hands. This was on the console. Has anyone else seen this bug? Here is a link to the proof: [1] Sorry about the quality my camera isn't too good at taking pictures of TV screens.

His Weapon?[]

It's obviously not a stock R91. It seems to be a scopeless Infiltrator. Maybe it was a sneak peek at The Pitt?
