Taffington Boathouse is a location and possible settlement in the Commonwealth.

Background

Built on a tributary of the Charles River, Taffington Boathouse was the home of Mary, Margaret and Russell Sutton... that is, before the bloodbug infestation occurred.

Margaret and Russell found a holotape in the boathouse detailing a possible supply of chems in the drainage chamber up the canal. Figuring they could sell the chems to traders and buy a few more brahmin, Russell cleared the blockage to the drainage and went to investigate inside,[1] but he inadvertently released the bloodbug nest within as well.[2]

Settlement information

The construction zone is rather small, mainly surrounding the area in front of the house. The house is mostly intact and can serve as shelter, but other space remains to expand the settlement if desired. The grounds in front of the house are good for planting crops, and the open waters surrounding the house can be used for large scale water production. The boathouse is in a moderately dangerous area of the Commonwealth, and raids on it are not uncommon.

Layout

The main house has two stories: the first story has a cooking station in the living room, and the second story has a number of beds, a safe (Advanced locked) and a steamer chest (Novice locked). Adjacent to the house is a small garden and the boathouse. Further north and up the canal is the Malden drainage.

Notable loot

Appearances

Taffington Boathouse appears only in Fallout 4.

The residence of one Mary Sutton, this location may be cleared of hostiles and used as a settlement. There’s a safe (Advanced) and steamer trunk (Novice) to unlock upstairs. Circumvent the door to the boathouse (Novice) by swimming under and up, watching for tripwires. The Bloodbugs sucking these settlers dry seem to be coming from the Malden Drainage area to the north.
Clear this interior chem lab of its blood-sucking parasites before inspecting the area for Russell Sutton and a small security cell with a locked terminal (Advanced) and a trunk. There’s a second trunk in the small upper laboratory area."
