A Super Sledgehammer, manufactured by the Brotherhood of Steel, using the finest weapon technology available. Includes a kinetic energy storage device to increase knockback.

— In-game description, Fallout

The Super Sledge is a melee weapon in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Background[]

The following section is transcluded from Super sledge. To modify, please edit the source page.

A hammer designed after the Great War by the Brotherhood of Steel, using the finest technology available to the order. The outline of the weapon has been streamlined and the head enclosed in a protective casing. The handle is also simplified, apparently due to the weapon being designed explicitly for use by troops in power armor. Regardless of the intent, the sledgehammer eventually made its way to the outside and appeared on the market in New California, drawing attention for its combination of good ergonomics, excellent performance, and the ability to knock enemies around like there was no tomorrow. Its performance as a tool was an excellent bonus.[1][2]

Characteristics[]

The Super Sledgehammer is the best melee weapon in terms of damage and knock-back effects. However, the greatest drawback of using it is that it knocks opponents very far away, leaving you with fewer opportunities to strike in a single round.[2]

Locations[]

The Super Sledgehammer can be obtained at least two ways. You can go to the Old Town in the Hub and buy it from Jake or you can Rescue the initiate (also in Old Town) and get it as reward from Talus. Moonshiners drop it when you meet them with a caravan. There might be further alternatives to obtain it also.

In Fallout 2 the Super Sledgehammer can be found in Navarro. It is located on the ground floor of the facility in the maintenance building east of the hangar. It is in the right-most of the two workbenches behind Quincy. He will not take kindly to you going through his stuff so it may require a sneak skill to obtain without alerting him and/or the base.

As well as in Navarro, a super sledge may be found in the armory of the enclave oil rig in Fallout 2.
