Steal necklace from the Merchants is a side quest in Fallout.

Quick Walkthrough[]

  1. Receive quest from Loxley.
  2. Go to Daren Hightower's house.
  3. Locate and retrieve the necklace from the strongbox.
  4. Bring necklace to Loxley.

Detailed Walkthrough[]

In The Hub's Old Town, a building has a staircase leading down to the Thieves' Circle. The player must navigate some traps and locked doors to enter the clandestine subterranean location, evntually finding Loxley and his inner circle of thieves inside.

Loxley will give the player credit for navigating through the aforementioned obstacles and extend an offer of membership to the Thieves' Circle, provided that they steal a necklace from the house of an eminent local merchant. Loxley will grant 900 XP for completing the initial dialogue and accepting this quest.

Daren Hightower's house can be found in the Heights district of the Hub. His house is heavily guarded, but if the player sneaks in at night, (around 6:00pm) he or she should be able to make it in and out without being seen.

If the player doesn't manage to sneak in, they may have to kill the guards. In a room toward the lower left of Hightower's house is a strongbox. There is a trap that will explode if the player tries to lockpick the box before disarming it. Inside the strongbox is the fancy gold, silver and diamond necklace.

Returning it to Loxley in the Thieves' Circle completes the quest.

Rewards[]

Notes[]

  • The quest award is 3000 caps when the necklace is only worth 700, making this quest very profitable.
