The spear is a throwing and melee weapon in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Does low damage and is better for selling than combat. On the other hand this is the only ranged weapon for a completely melee based character.
Variants
In Fallout 2, Mynoc can turn a spear into a sharpened spear if you bring him a piece of flint.
