The sniper rifle is a small gun in Fallout Tactics.

Background[]

The following section is transcluded from Sniper rifle. To modify, please edit the source page.

A DKS-501 sniper rifle. Excellent long range projectile weapon. Originally .308, this one is chambered in the more common 7.62 caliber.[1]

Characteristics[]

Sniper rifles are an excellent long-range projectile weapon. Typically chambered for .308 rounds, these are chambered for the more common 7.62mm caliber.

This weapon has a big aiming bonus when used on long ranges. Laser rifle, Gauss rifle, Hunting rifle and M1 Garand get a similar but a bit smaller long range aiming bonus. These bonuses come with an close range aiming penalty which is bigger than the standard penalty other ranged weapons have. This means that if one wants a weapon for long range sniping, than one of the mentioned 5 weapons should be used.

Locations[]

  • One in a chest, and another carried by a super mutant during the St. Louis mission.
  • Sold by the Brotherhood after finishing the St. Louis mission.
  • Hidden in a fridge on-top of Jefferson's train station.
