Shh. Not too loud. I don't really want people to know that we're doin' business. There rest of these guys around here might not want anything to do with you, but I got no problem with you... well, not with your caps at least.

Smiling Jack is a raider found running his general shop in the Evergreen Mills Bazaar of the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3.

Background[]

A master trader and barterer, Jack is a jovial sort, and not just because he’s set up shop next to the Raider strip club. He mends the Raiders' equipment, which keeps him busy and unable to continue modifications on his pride and joy: a devastating shotgun he brings out for a little fun.[1]

Despite being a raider, Smiling Jack is not aggressive to the Lone Wanderer. He holds no loyalty to the raiders he lives with, though he urges the Lone Wanderer not to let them see him trading with an outsider, likely fearing that the raiders would turn on him if they were caught.[2] Obviously he has no compunctions about buying and selling stolen items from the probably recently murdered.[3]
