The following is based on Fallout New Vegas cut content and has not been confirmed by canon sources. |
The Service rifle bayonet is a weapon mod which was cut from the final version of Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
This cut item would have modified the service rifle to add a bayonet. It remains in the form of meshes, textures, and static world objects in the GECK, but not as a usable mod that can be added via the console on the PC.
It is likely that the bayonet was cut due to there being no existing system of using a non-Melee or non-Unarmed weapon as a close combat weapon; in other words, one cannot hit an enemy with the butt of their weapon or, in this case, stab them with an attached weapon.
