Sanchez was a member of a trade caravan from the Commonwealth, looking to profit from a trek west. Eventually they stopped at some point south of south of and near to Nuka-World for a respite from their travels. A long trek culminating with little business, the lost of a brahmin to a radscorpion and a sickening party member: Emmy. While in the middle of recording a log, one on explaining at how the trade mission was a bust and that they would be lucky to recoup their losses, Dixie introduced herself.[1]
At first he was apprehensive at trusting a complete stranger wearing such a strange face-mask, however she was successfully able to convince him it was to cover a horrific wound from a fictitious yao gui attack. She then suggested that they travel to Nuka-World, billing the locale as a trade outpost, encouraging them to use her name so that they would treat them like family. Desperate and at each other's throats he brought up the topic to the group at their next meeting... they chose to take Dixie up on her offer, becoming victims of the raiders of Nuka-World.[1]
