Mentioned inFallout 2

Sam Pritchard was a member of the group that made a failed attempt at breaching the defenses of the Sierra Army Depot.

Horrified at the mayhem the automated sentry turrets caused among his friends, he made his way back to New Reno. There, he drew a copy of his own map that detailed the route to the army depot and gave it to Orville Wright, dying shortly thereafter (his throat being cut)[1] and ending up in Golgotha.[2] His headstone reads: "Here lies Sam Pritchard: He talked too much so we gave him a second mouth."[1]

Sam Pritchard is mentioned only in Fallout 2.

  2. The Chosen One: "{438}{}{I'm interested.}"
Orville Wright: "{465}{}{It so happens, not too long ago, I came across a map that shows an old army base in the mountains not far from here. You find a way in there, and I'll see that you're taken care of…}"
The Chosen One: "{469}{}{Why should I go? Didn't you send somebody already?}"
Orville Wright: "{480}{}{(Mr. Wright's expression tightens for a moment, then he snorts.) Heh. Not exactly. The fellas I got the map from are dead. They were a tough bunch, but they all got wiped out tryin' to get inside the base.}"
The Chosen One: "{481}{}{They didn't even get INSIDE?}"
Orville Wright: "{485}{}{Yeah, the only survivor said…shortly before his unfortunate death…said that there were some kind of super gun turrets guarding the entrance. Wiped out most of his boys.}"
The Chosen One: "{486}{}{What happened to the survivor?}"
Orville Wright: "{495}{}{Oh, ol' Sam Pritchard? Sad story. Got drunk one night, mentioned to my boy Keith he'd found this 'base,' and 'fore y'know it, he draws me a map and DIES. He's sleeping in Golgotha now.}"
