Colonel Royez is a Californian officer of the New California Republic Army found at a strategic intersection at the Long 15 in California.

Both the location and the Colonel only appear if the player elects to nuke Republic territories at the conclusion of The Apocalypse in Lonesome Road.

Background[]

The commanding officer of a unit of heavy infantry stationed at the Long 15, Colonel Royez is a decorated Californian veteran. As the head of an elite unit of heavy troopers, Royez was granted a fully functional and heavily customized suit of T-45d power armor, called Scorched Sierra power armor. It protected him from instant death due to the nuclear detonation, but failed to prevent the radiation from turning him into a marked man.

Interactions with the player character[]

interactions overview[]

This character has no special interactions.

Other interactions[]

Found among the wreckage of three VB-02 Vertibirds along with a squad of heavy infantry, Colonel Royez is an optional boss character unlocked in the course of the DLC. He has ten points in every SPECIAL stat, maxed-out weapon skills, and totes a plasma caster loaded with overcharged microfusion cells (giving him increased damage and armor penetration). Coupled with his health regeneration (which stacks with the armor's effects) and high resistance to damage, he is a challenge to even the strongest characters.

Furthermore, like Ulysses and Gaius Magnus, Colonel Royez cannot be knocked down by attacks like the Ranger Takedown or the bumper sword special. Instead, he will simply freeze in place for the duration of the knockdown.
