The red plate is a miscellaneous item in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
It is useful only as Rock-It Launcher ammunition. Because of its weight, it is less desirable than other items which weigh less (or nothing) and is therefore almost completely useless. It is commonly found in kitchens throughout the wastes, though not as common as regular white plates.

Notes[]
- In Nipton on Fallout: New Vegas there is a Red Plate which is much bigger than normal Red Plates. It is in the white coloured house in the centre of the town. It is found on a table with food on it.
- In the Old World Blues, red plates can be given to Muggy and broken down into their base components (fifty units of pistol powder).
Behind the scenes[]
The general appearance and relative rarity of the red plate may be a reference to the Fiestaware red plate, a ceramic plate produced in the mid-1900s which was notable for emitting a large (but generally harmless) amount of radiation from its brilliant red uranium-rich glaze.
