For a lore overview, see Radiation. |

Radiation is a rare environmental hazard in Fallout. Exposure to it can cause a status effect called Radiated, which carries with it a variety of deleterious effects.
Overview[]
- The player accumulates radiation as a result of exposure to its sources. These sources are few and far in between, with the primary hazard being a trip to The Glow. Using two doses of Rad-X virtually eliminates accumulation of rads. RadAway removes any accumulated rads and can be used to manage radiation exposure.
- The player character will die if any of the stats drops to 0. The game only checks for death at the moment the relevant message is displayed, which is always some time after exposure, so it's possible to stay alive with drugs and continue to play the game as normal. Stats will return to normal after 7 days.
