Rad-X is an anti-radiation chemical that can significantly reduce the danger of irradiated areas. When combined with an advanced radiation suit, Rad-X can—even at moderate medical skill levels—create near-immunity to radiation.
Rad-X is best used in heavily irradiated areas. It is reasonably common and can be used frequently. Like stimpaks and RadAway, Rad-X is non-addictive, and its effectiveness is controlled by the medicine skill. Taking multiple doses of Rad-X does not increase the total radiation resistance (the effects do not stack). Instead, the drug's active time is lengthened (the effective time stacks).

Locations
Although still found in first aid kits across the wasteland, Rad-X is rarer in the Mojave than in the Capital Wasteland.
It is easier to buy Rad-X from merchants that sell medicine.

↑Vault Dweller's Survival Guide p.5-18: "Rad-X is a preventive medication. Take Rad-X before exposure to radiation, and the total amount of radiation you receive will be reduced. Rad-X bolsters your bodies own Radiation Resistance. The stronger you are to start with, the more effective Rad-X will be."
↑Fallout Official Survival Guide p.124: "Rad-X: A radiation prophylactic. Use this drug before you enter a radioactive area, and the total amount of radiation you receive will be reduced. Rad-X increases your body's natural Radiation Resistance."
