The Brotherhood's goals in the Commonwealth include securing technology that may pose a threat to humans. Scribe Haylen coordinates the efforts of Field Scribes on the ground, answering to Proctor Quinlan. The Survivor, once they join the Brotherhood, can recover technology for her.

A straightforward quest. Haylen gives the player a location to scour for technology - or rather, a particular item - then it's a matter of going there and bringing it back. Locations typically have some sort of enemy presence, making them a little challenging, especially early on.
