This foods' claim to fame is as a staple of the Hub diet, popularized by Bob's Iguana Bits, the family barbecue. Since its popularization in the 2150s,[1] it has become a very popular dish around the Wasteland, with a franchise of the stand Son of Bob's Iguana Bits in Shady Sands in 2241.

- In Fallout, it is found out that some iguana bits are actually human flesh bought from Doc Morbid in Junktown. These are sold at a discount, and appear as chunks-on-a-stick instead of an actual iguana-on-a-stick.
- In Fallout and Fallout 2, it is possible to feed Dogmeat some iguana-on-a-stick to keep him as a companion.
