The Pancor Jackhammer is a small gun in Fallout 2.

Background

Designed by Pancor, the Jackhammer combat shotgun is one of the most powerful pre-War close range weapons. It is essentially a gas-operated revolver, using a bullpup configuration. Placing the magazine behind the trigger group allowed the designers to make it more compact and better balanced without compromising accuracy or ability to control it in automatic mode.

Characteristics

A top of the line weapon for close and middle ranges, good for making called shots or tearing enemies apart with burst mode. Particularly good for Cassidy and Vic.

• San Francisco: Male Hubologist guards carry Jackhammers.
• Random encounters: Robbers and claim jumpers will sometimes carry these weapons.

Behind the scenes

• The Pancor Jackhammer was a prototypical automatic shotgun that was designed in 1984 and patented in 1987, though it never entered production as its target audience (military and police forces worldwide) never placed an order for these weapons and Pancor went bankrupt.
