With the Sole Survivor having successfully infiltrated the elusive Institute, they find themselves under the clandestine task of infiltrating the Institute further, by stealing technical data off of one of their (notably unlocked) terminals.
Walkthrough[]
Proctor Ingram, back at the Prydwen or near the gantry at the Boston airport, will give the Sole Survivor a network scanner holotape, and tasks them with stealing data from the Institute for BoS intelligence.
Once the Institute has been infiltrated, the player simply needs to interact with any Institute terminal and play the network scanner holotape, which will automatically gather data from the network. Then they need to eject the holotape and return to the Proctor.

There are no negative consequences for finishing this quest, and as most terminals are for public use, and as such do not have any sort of security measures, the Sole Survivor may complete their objective without any hostile interference.
