One Pine is a settlement in the eastern Sierra Nevadas of California mentioned by Aaron Kimball in his speech at the Hoover Dam in 2281.
Background[]
One Pine is situated east of the Owens Lake, which was the home to many raider tribes. One Pine was a less then hospitable place to live as water shortages and raider attacks from Owens Lake were all too common, and the work available was just as dangerous. One Pine also felt a good amount of the brunt from the Brotherhood War. However, in 2269, the New California Republic sent in its army, assumingly under the command of then General Aaron Kimball, to bring peace to the eastern Sierra Nevada region and drive out all raider tribes. Their operation was a resounding success with most, if not all, tribes either leaving or having been destroyed and subsequently brought peace to One Pine and the eastern Sierra Nevadas.[1]
In Kimball's speech, he refers to the home of Jeremy Watson, who was "born in a tin shack on the outskirts of One Pine".
Behind the Scenes[]
One Pine might refer to either the Californian towns of Lone Pine or Big Pine, both of which are located in the Owens Valley region of the eastern Sierra Nevadas.
