The old nuclear test site is a location in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[]
This ancient location served as a test range for nuclear weapons for over a century, until the Great War turned the whole world into a thermonuclear proving grounds. The decades of testing left the entire area highly irradiated due to nuclear fallout and other debris scattered across the grounds. Though hazardous to humans, this made it a natural home for the endless hordes of feral ghouls that infest the wasteland, especially in the wake of the attack on Camp Searchlight in 2281.
Layout[]
The nuclear test site is another location that cordons off the playable area. The road terminates in a parking lot with a derelict army truck. Behind the fence is one of two intact nuclear test shacks, with the other one together with two nuclear test craters inaccessible beyond the fence. The tests were observed from a sandbagged vantage point on the nearby hill. Old authority glasses - five of them - can be found there, well preserved by the desert conditions.
As expected, the area is crawling with feral ghoul reavers and glowing ones, and other varieties prowling the hills.
If the player rescues the Powder Gangers during Booted, they will travel here, promptly being overwhelmed by the ghouls, either immediately or when they respawn.
