The Nuka-Cade is a location within Nuka-Town USA in Nuka-World.
Background[]
One of the most interesting parts of Nuka-Town, the Nuka-Cade hosts five games of skill; before the Great War, visitors would spend countless hours and tokens trying to win tickets in order to redeem any number of fabulous prizes.[1]
Although the machines fell apart with time, they were restored to working order through the magic hands of Fritsch, a handyman who ran with Colter's gang. Now the arcade serves as a source of revenue and nonlethal entertainment for the raiders; rather than just souvenirs and bottles of soda as prizes, Fritsch has stocked the system with weapons, armor, mini-nukes and even pieces of power armor.
Arcade games[]
The arcade features fives games: Bandit Roundup, Nuka Zapper Race, Whac-a-Commie, Hoop Shot, and Atomic Rollers. The more points one scores, the more Nuka-Cade tickets.
- Bandit Roundup
Two lines of targets travel across the gallery, moving faster as time progresses. Around 40-50 targets come out and vary in point values: bottles are worth 300 points, stars are worth 250, ducks are worth 200, pigs are worth 150, and rabbits are worth 100.
- Nuka Zapper Race
A target rests on a bottle and must be shot with the Thirst Zapper to raise the the bottle as quickly as possible. The quicker one raises the bottle, the more tickets they receive.
- Whac-a-Commie
Using the Commie Whacker or another melee weapon, one smacks the Red Menaces back into their holes whenever they pop up.
- Hoop Shot
Square up on a lane and throwing many basketballs through the hoop as possible at the end of the lane. The more baskets one makes, the more tickets they get.
- Atomic Rollers
Roll (or throw) as many Atomic Roller balls into the tiered holes as possible.
Layout[]
The arcade is straightforward. The central two chambers provide the "spine", which connects four rooms, each with a minigame or two of its own, based on classic arcade games. At the eastern end of the spine is the terminal used to redeem tickets for prizes, and in the maintenance section in the southeast, there is a generator room that also contains a weapons workbench.
Notable loot[]
- Random loot can be gained from redeeming Nuka-Cade tickets at the Nuka-Cade Prize terminal, including acid soakers and paddle balls.
- A star core is in the maintenance area, on the weapon workbench.
- A fusion core is found in the generator in the maintenance area.
Appearances[]
The Nuka-Cade appears only in the add-on Nuka-World.
