The Mysterious Stranger outfit and Mysterious Stranger hat are worn by the Mysterious Stranger in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The Mysterious Stranger outfit is also worn by Miss Fortune in Fallout: New Vegas, appearing as a dramatically different piece of clothing when worn by a female.

Characteristics

The male version of the outfit is a long beige overcoat with a fedora while the female version is significantly more showy. It appears as a red and metal studded leotard with thigh high socks, bracers and armbands, a metal pauldron on the right shoulder, a red face scarf and a headdress adorned with feathers.

The outfit grants a Damage Resistant of 5 and the hat provides one of 2.

Location

They cannot be obtained without using console commands. Strangely, if you do wear the outfit and look downward in first person with certain weapons like the .44 magnum or 10mm submachinegun, it bugs and shows inside the chest.

Behind the scenes

• The suit is a nod to the classic film noir style detective, i.e. the long overcoat with a shady hat pulled over his/her face.
