The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Of course there is. You're her. And you're still as perfect as the day we met.

— Mr. New Vegas

Mr. New Vegas is an AI, programmed by Mr. House before the Great War,[1] to be the DJ of Radio New Vegas, a job he still performs over two hundred years later in Fallout: New Vegas. He is heard in the game only as a disembodied voice on the radio.

Interactions with the player character[]

Mr. New Vegas plays music and reads news, most commonly detailing the Courier's deeds.

He makes comments and gives advice on the Courier's active quests doing some things such as revealing what the Courier must do or is going to do. Much like Three Dog from Fallout 3, Mr. New Vegas also reveals some future details of the ending of Fallout: New Vegas including the possible takeover of the NCR, Caesar's Legion, and Mr. House.

Notes[]

  • Mr. New Vegas rarely specifically mentions the Courier in his news reports, except for when the Courier leaves Doc Mitchell's house. This is possibly due to lack of information on Mr. New Vegas's part. In Fallout 3, Three Dog, unlike Mr. New Vegas, knows the player character (the Lone Wanderer) personally and often refers to him/her as "the kid from Vault 101".
  • Some of his news will be based on the player's reputation or karma.
  • Unlike his Fallout 3 counterpart, Three Dog, Mr. New Vegas cannot be encountered in any way. His base of operations is also never discovered.

Appearances[]

Mr. New Vegas is only heard in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Mr. New Vegas is voiced by real-life Vegas-based star Wayne Newton, also known as "Mr. Las Vegas".
  • Mr. New Vegas' line, "Mojave, mo' problems. Am I right folks?" is a reference to the rapper Notorious B.I.G.'s song "Mo Money, Mo problems." This line is only heard if the Courier takes the Wild Wasteland trait.
  • Occasionally, Mr. New Vegas may say, "You're nobody 'til somebody loves you, and that somebody is me. I love you." This is a reference to "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You", a 1944 song popularized by Dean Martin.

Bugs[]

  • Xbox 360 Sometimes Mr. New Vegas' voice will be cut short and music will play.
