The Mother Punga (Mother Seed to Point Lookout tribals) is a large punga fruit plant in the Sacred Bog in 2277.

Background[]

Mother Punga is effectively the oldest extant plant in the entire Point Lookout. It is the core of a large, wild bloom of punga fruit plants, which has grown large enough to produce seed pods. When the pods are removed, the plant releases a cloud of pollen to germinate them. An unfortunate side effect is that it can also trigger vivid hallucinations in anyone who is caught in the cloud.[1]

Characteristics[]

Mother Punga has to be reached as part of the Ritual of the Mother Seed. The plant's pollen modifies the biology of the player character slightly, granting the Punga Power! perk. However, it also results in unconsciousness and a nasty trip.

While the player character is unconscious, Tobar removes a piece of their brain for his "collection," completing the initiation with the tribals.

Appearances[]

The Mother Punga appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on Point Lookout.

This is an enormous "seed," part of a huge wild bloom of the Punga fruit. The seeds nestle on a pod in the recessed part of the fruit. The plant shudders and releases a puff of pollen, said to cause vivid hallucinations."
