Military Police Corps was the uniformed law enforcement branch of the United States Army, responsible for carrying out investigations, apprehending soldiers, prisoner management, and other duties. The versatility of Military Police led to MPs being increasingly used in security and staff roles at installations that used apprehended civilians and military prisoners for experimentation. MPs were typically not informed of the exact nature of the experimentation, although they would usually be keenly aware of it.[1]
