An affable fellow, Miguel is the last resort for people down on their luck, buying what they offer at reasonable prices and selling them for a profit.[1] His pawn shop has been in the family for at least three generations. In fact, Miguel took over the business when his grandfather lost his life to the Fiends.[2] He has since built up an impressive collection of odds and ends.
That Lucky Old Sun: After activating Helios One and Archimedes II, if Veronica Santangelo is in your party, she'll suggest going to Miguel's Pawnshop to find the rangefinder to activate Archimedes. When asked about the rangefinder, though, Miguel will make a joke about how useless it would be to have and tells the player he wouldn't want such a thing.[3]
↑Miguel: "If you're down on your luck and need some caps, I buy just about anything. Of course, I've also got plenty of things for sale, too." (Miguel's dialogue (Fallout: New Vegas))
↑The Courier: "I'm looking for an antique rangefinder somebody might've sold to you?" Miguel: "Antique rangefinder? I'm trying to think of something that'd be more worthless. Maybe an antique horoscope. Or an antique sandwich. I'll tell you something. Good luck finding that thing. But if you do find it, don't waste your time trying to sell it to me." (Miguel's dialogue (Fallout: New Vegas))
