Metro Central, or Metro Center, is part of the Metro system under the Capital Wasteland where the Red Line and the White Line cross.
Layout[]
Metro Central is the largest metro station in the Capital Wasteland, consisting of three levels of metro rails leading to many locations. The metro exchange hub is brimming with feral ghouls and raiders. The raiders appear to have invaded the ghoul's habitat and is losing the battle to take the metro station for themselves.
The highest story has an exit to Pennsylvania Avenue. Below that, the eastbound white line leads to Freedom Street station, which is part of Vernon Square station. The westbound metro tunnel is obstructed, but still leads to a utility room that accesses Foggy Bottom station. Down the escalators, the metro has a tunnel for the southbound Museum station and opposite that is a southbound tunnel heading to Dupont Circle station.
It is particularly easy to get lost in this area so, take care to notice the signs that read either "Red Line" (which runs north/south) and "White Line" (which runs east/west). The top floor leads outside, the middle floor leads to the tunnels of the White Line, and the bottom floor leads to the tunnels of the Red Line.
Notable loot[]
- Pugilism Illustrated as well as Mentats and Buffout in a locked (average) room near the exit to Museum Station.
- Dean's Electronics located in a small, locked (easy) gated in generator area on a table near the Foggy Bottom Station Exit.
- There is also a terminal (average hack) near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit that allows the Lone Wanderer to download a metro map into their notes and activate a protectron that will attack anything which doesn't have a metro ticket.
- There is a note on a dead slave that, when read, will mark the Temple of the Union. It is located on the red line tracks near the Dupont Circle exit.
Appearances[]
Metro Central appears only in Fallout 3.
