The makeshift gas mask is an unused piece of equipment in Fallout 3 which would have been used in Vault 106.
Characteristics[]
According to the Fallout 3 Official Game Guide, wearing the helmet would have prevented the various hallucinations normally encountered in Vault 106. Although the helmet does exist within the game's files it is only partially functional, preventing the blue/purple tint from appearing over the player's vision but not the associated hallucinations.

Presumably, it would be found in Vault 106; however since it was never fully implemented, it is nowhere in the released game.
Bugs[]
