Longneck Lukowski's Cannery is a famed cannery on the shore of the Commonwealth.

Background[]

Once famed for its quality potted meats, this cannery was renovated sometime around 2286 by the enterprising Theodore Collins, although the meats he sells have a strange taste and have been making people sick.[1][2] While Collins is hesitant to reveal the source of his meats, a quick trip the basement reveals that he is indeed processing the feral ghouls down there, and selling their rotting meat off to wastelanders.[3]

Layout[]

Exterior[]

In addition to the beached tugboat on the southern dock, the cannery has a staircase on the east wall that leads up to the roof. The only notable thing on the roof is a small Novice-locked office containing an Expert-locked safe.

Interior[]

The cannery opens to Collins' shop, with the meat processing room behind it. To the south are several catwalks, one of which leads north to a foreman's niche on the third floor, which contains a weapons workbench; another catwalk leads south to a cargo lift into the ghoul-infested basement.

The basement begins with two rooms: a carcass storeroom to the west containing a chemistry station, and a boiler room to the north. This room has a busted wall that leads to a sewer system; a set of pipes lead across the collection ditch to a hallway and another pool of sewage. Following this pool, one must descend a staircase into another sewage pool and enter a pipe to the north.

The pipe leads out to another pool with a staircase; the room contains a brick hallway leading south to a large collection chamber, with a stairwell in the back leading up to the catwalks that span above. A hole in the wall past the emergency generator leads back to the boiler room at the entrance of the basement. A catwalk leads to a supply room and workshop with a chained door, which leads out to the main meat processing room.

Famed for its quality potted meats, this cannery has recently been revitalized by the enterprising Theodore Collins, though the meats he produces have a strange, almost familiar taste."

  2. The Sole Survivor: "What was that in there about people getting sick?"
Rylee: "Theo got that old cannery up and running 'bout a year or so back and convinced me and some of the other traders to start bringing his cans around. It was all good and well for a while, but in the past couple of months I've had people complain about getting sick after eating it. Don't get me wrong, not like... people dying or anything, just... I don't know. The sales have slumped off and Theo's gotten more uppity."

  3. Theodore Collins: "Whoa, whoa, it doesn't have be this way. Look, we can run this place together. You look the other way and I'll give you a cut of the profits."
The Sole Survivor: "So you can feed people ghoul meat?"
Theodore Collins: "Ghouls are no different than any other dumb animal. They're an untapped food source. What do you say? You help keep this quiet, I run the cannery. We both make a fortune."
    (Theodore Collin's dialogue)
