Legion ear | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A Legion ear is a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
The severed right ear of a Caesar's Legion slave warrior, the ears are only relevant for the Team Spirit quest. They are otherwise useless, but can be used to track legionary kills as they have no weight.
The NCR analogue is dogtags, which can be traded in to characters on both side of the war.
Locations
- Legion ears have a chance to spawn on Legion warriors, even before Team Spirit is activated. Common locations include:
- Legion raid camp
- Nipton, including dead legionaries found in buildings
- Nelson
- Bloodborne cave
- Techatticup mine
- Cottonwood Cove
- The Fort, although several legionaries do not have the right On Death items set.
- Legate's Camp, though as an endgame location, it's only listed for completeness sake.
Note that ears are not guaranteed to spawn at all, making it an exercise in grinding if the player wants to collect 30 ears to complete Team Spirit. Legionaries spawned by scripts may also lack the necessary configuration, making them, in effect, earless, such as during I Forgot to Remember to Forget.
Related quests
- Team Spirit: Legion ears are sought by Private James Sexton for a morale-boosting killing competition.
