Las Vegas Boulevard Station is a building in the New Vegas Strip. It allows military members and VIP's of the New California Republic (NCR) to travel between the New Vegas Strip and Camp McCarran without having to go through Freeside. Mark I Securitrons are here to make sure there are no loiters (and to maintain a tense, but professional relationship with the NCR).[1]
Layout[]
The LVB station is neighboring the Ultra-Luxe and is opposite the street from The Tops. It is controlled by the NCR Army and guarded by some PDQ-88b Securitrons. The interior of the station consists of two floors. The first floor houses a processing office, a storage room and restrooms. Up the stairs is the departure lounge and access to the monorail platform. The interior is open to the public, but the platform is off limits to most civilians.
Notes[]
- If the Courier tries to enter the monorail without NCR armor on, or doesn't have a reputation of at least "Liked" with the NCR, the guards guarding the monorail terminal door will shoot on sight. The robots and anyone with the NCR will also shoot the Courier back at the Strip.
- The Securitrons inside the building will re-spawn, however the NCR soldiers will not.
- The actual usefulness of the monorail is situational, it is almost always more efficient to simply fast travel to The Strip North Gate or away from the strip to the exterior of McCarran. Effectiveness is based on reducing number of transitions, which the monorail does not do very well since it let's out into a building in Vegas and the exterior of McCarran. If these design features were reversed it would reduce the number of transitions required and make the monorail a viable choice. As it stands however the monorail is only useful if the player is inside the Camp McCarran terminal building/Camp McCarran concourse or the LVB Station when deciding to visit the other end of the line. If the player is outside of those buildings, fast travel is either outright superior or identical in number of transitions.
- "The Sun is Killing Me" appears on the LVB Station wall, above the 1st flat landing of the stairs into the building. The nearby Securitrons may occasionally try to remove the graffiti by shooting it.
- There is also a humorous conversation between two NCR soldiers in which one is told to clean the graffiti but refuses and the other asks if he would rather clean the sewers.
- If the Courier enters the area for the first time, a NCR trooper on the first floor will ask if this is the Courier's first time to visit The Strip. He will ask this regardless of which way the Courier entered the area, even if the Courier just came from The Strip he will still pop the question.
- A Mojave Express dropbox is located on the first floor of the station.
- On the second floor, there is a slot machine that will randomly play by itself.
- If Walter Phebus is in the Las Vegas Boulevard Station, he will not react to any acts of violence committed, even against his wife.
Appearances[]
The LVB Station appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
Bugs[]
- The robots guarding the station appear to remain Securitron MK-I units even after the Courier has used the platinum chip to upgrade all other units to MK-II.
- The monorail track curves left (north) outside the station when in fact it should curve right (south) towards McCarran.
- Inside the station the player still appears at McCarran on the Pip-boy map even though you're inside the walls of New Vegas.

The LVB, or Las Vegas Boulevard Station offers a monorail service between here and Camp McCarran [2.19]. This is mainly for the benefit of NCR citizens and military.

A Securitron Mk I is here to make sure you don't loiter (and to maintain a tense, but professional relationship with the NCR). Head further in and an NCR Trooper warns you that most weapons are banned by Mr. House when entering casinos. You can also speak to the Trooper about the Casinos, and other fun times to be had on The Strip, if it's your first time here."
