Lara wants to know what is being guarded in the church is a quest in Fallout 2.
Background[]
You receive this quest from Lara, the leader of a small gang in the West Side of the Den. They want you to go over to the East Side to the church and talk to the guards, and find out what is inside the church.

Detailed walkthrough[]
You need to bluff your way through the guards and then simply look around in the room. For this you need to make a speech check or have a Strength of 8. If you fail the initial speech check, you cannot attempt it again.
Talk to Lara to receive her next quest, Get permission from Metzger for gang war.
If you have killed Metzger, the entire gang will only talk about their uncertain future and no longer be interested in Tyler's gang's activities. However they do not turn hostile.
