Background[]
Kasumi is a native of the Commonwealth, born to Kenji Nakano and Rei Nakano (or so she thinks). Plagued from birth by strange dreams, such as waking up on a factory slab, these nightmares convinced her that there is something... Off about her. When her grandfather died and the situation at home became... Difficult, she sought solace in technology, fixing the little odds and ends that made their business and life better. One day, she fixed up an old radio and received signals from Acadia. She followed them using one of her father's boats, to find a solution to the question "Am I a synth?" What she found was a welcoming colony that could provide no clear answer - but she stayed all the same. What prevented her from coming home was a sneaking suspicion that the benevolent, charitable DiMA was doing more than he was letting on - and the projections she found while snooping around in Acadia's systems only confirmed these suspicions.
