Karl is a member of the Family in Fallout 3 in Fallout 3.

Background[]

Karl born in 2240 is very gruff and has a short fuse; he prefers not to speak to people. He is always highly suspicious of people and prefers to think the worst of them. Karl is distinguished by his unusual haircut: long blond hair, which is not common for a man of his bulky stature.[1]

He used to own a shop in Megaton with his wife, Skyler, until they were invited to Meresti station by Vance, the leader of the Family, who met them while gathering supplies. He had felt a strong kinship with them and invited them to join him. Skyler and Karl agreed and moved. Skyler died some time before 2277, though Karl stayed in Meresti.[1]

In truth, Karl doesn't believe in Vance's vampiric teachings he plays along in order to keep his store in Meresti.
